BROCTON -- Brocton Portland Seniors met Aug. 25 at the Brocton Legion with Vice President Tom DeJoe opening the meeting for 52 members.
Pastor Clara Wilder gave a prayer of gratitude and Laurel Giambra led the Pledge of Allegiance. Committee members thanked for setting up tables were Jim and Duane Hemmis, Becky Dalziel and Chip Winchell and Brian Stanton.
August is the club’s every member’s birthday month, and a wrapped gift for everyone was given in celebration from the committee. They did the tables decorated with balloons and sunflower centerpieces. Three kinds of cake finished a buffet lunch variety of foods.
Veterans 4 Christ are having a barbecue with all the goodies for Donation of $12 today from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Westfield Legion.

Don and Sharon Carlson celebrated their 39-years anniversary. Birthdays celebrated in August were Louise Torrey, Tom DeJoe, Denise Spiller, Dorothy Derby , Deb Messere. Patty Farrell won the donated large plant drawing. Two club prize winners were Rose Giambra and Delores Fairbanks followed by ten raffle winners. Sept. 29 is the next meeting. This is an Auction – Pot luck – with members bringing auction items, dish to pass and their Own Personal Table Service. Volunteers are Don and Sharon Carlson, Brian Stanton, Robin Carr and Linda Riley.
