The wedding of Susan E. Karin and Michael J. Matesevac took place Feb. 3, 1968 in Dunkirk.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Matesevac were married for 30 years. Mike passed away Jan. 31, 1998 and was buried on Feb. 3, 1998, the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary.

Susan, who resides in Silver Creek, is the daughter of the late Norman and Florence Karin of Dunkirk. Mike’s parents were the late John and Luba Matesevac of Sheridan.

Attendants for Mike and Sue were Ted and Sally Patterson of Fredonia. Mike and Sue have five children: Cathryn (Raymond) DeLand, Susan (Matthew) Gawronski, Michael N. (Lisa) Matesevac, Ann Matesevac, (David Ratz) and Mark (Kristen) Matesevac. They have 9 grandchildren: Michael and Julia DeLand, Kyle and Emily Gawronski, Paul, Craig and Evan Matesevac and Sydney and Clara Matesevac.

Mike and Sue raised their children in Silver Creek. Sue was an English teacher before the birth of her children. She took time off while her children were young, then worked at Sidey’s Department Store until its closing. Mike was the owner and operator of The White Star bar and restaurant in Sheridan for over 30 years.
