Millimans hold 34th family reunion

The 34th Milliman reunion was held at the home of Randy and Brenda Stankey of Leon on Saturday, Aug. 11. Approximately 85 descendants of Lewis and Ettie Peters Milliman attended with a luncheon of roast pork served. In addition, a number of delicious dishes were shared. Melissa Stankey presided over a Chinese auction with many interesting items available, both serious and humorous. Jim Milliman from Oklahoma received the gift for the person traveling the farthest to be in attendance. Lola Kinney of Brocton was awarded the prize as the first to respond, with Steven and Carolyn Milliman also receiving a prize for timely response. The youngest person in attendance was Harlo Haen, son of Rachel and Brian Haen of Delevan. Gaylord Milliman received the prize as oldest person present. Kole Bromley received acclaim as the first to ever ride Randy Stankey’s unusual bicycle. Children were entertained with a zip line, tractor pulled airplane rides and a money-filled sawdust pile. An afternoon of visiting and laughter followed the luncheon. Next year’s reunion will be at the home of John Milliman of Stockton on the second Saturday of August, 2019.
