Dunkirk High School Class of 1978

The Dunkirk High School of 1978 recently held a three day event to celebrate its 40th Class Reunion July 5 through 7. Classmate Doug Brown held a get-together at his summer home on Thursday evening. Classmates gathered for the “icebreaker” Friday at Rookies on the Lake.

Saturday morning some classmates gathered at Shorewood Country Club for a golf outing, while others attended a memorial dedication at Point Gratiot. Classmates had purchased a memorial bench in memory of deceased members. Classmate Steve Maziarz presented the dedication.

Dinner was held Saturday at the Clarion Hotel. Julia Palmer Knight presented a slideshow during dinner of years at DHS as well as past reunions. Tables were dedicated with wooden plaques of DHS 78 made by Faith Ogden Lesandro.

It was unanimous that a 45th reunion will happen.

Committee members included Faith Ogden Lesandro, Leslie Long, Julia Palmer Knight, Mary Strobel Ortolano, Paula Miller Wise, Doug Brown, Hector Rosas and Brian Benamati.
