Westfield Women’s Organization ready to begin new year

Next year's officers for the Westfield Women's Organization are from left: Rita Jaynes, parliamentarian; Sandy Brown, secretary; Diane Scarpine, president; Kathy Archer, treasurer; Marie Edwards, vice president.

The Westfield Women’s Organization held its end-of-the-year banquet on May 16 at the Johnson Estate Winery.

A wonderful catered dinner was served with the Winery’s staff pairing wine with each course. Thank you flowers were given to next year’s officers just before the oath of officers was pledged. A tour of the winery and the surrounding vineyards was enjoyed by all.

The elected officers included: President: Diane Scarpine, Vice President: Marie Edwards, Secretary: Sandy Brown, Treasurer: Kathy Archer and Parliamentarian: Rita Jaynes.

The Westfield Women’s Organization is a community-minded organization united for the purpose of friendship, educational development and service to others. W.W.O. has been actively serving the Westfield community for 53 years. The bi-annual Holly Tour is the group’s most important fund-raising event and, over the years, thousands of dollars have been donated back into Westfield programs and the community.

The W.W.O. will be holding its first meeting of the new year on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church Parlor. Anyone interested in seeing what the group is about and in joining is encouraged to see the Facebook page for details or contact any W.W.O. member.
