SCHS Class of 1948 celebrates 71 year reunion
The Silver Creek High School Class of 1948 celebrated 71 years with a mini reunion at the Colony Restaurant on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4. The event was organized by Mary Lou Pagano. The reunion was opened by Mary Lou Pagano, with a welcome to all. Prayers were given by Bob Sutehall at the beginning and end of the event. A memorial prayer was also given by Bob Sutehall, as he named all the deceased members of the class. Mary Lou Pagano read notes from classmates who could not attend, including Jim Bess, Jim Barnes, Richard (Sparky) Adams, and guest Allen (Percy) Johnson.
Guests for the afternoon included Lorraine Dunkel, Tony Hoppa, Ellyn Sutehall, Nancy Clees, Phyllis Kohler, and Tracy Kent (daughter of Nancy Kent). Tracy and Nancy Kent were recognized for travelling the farthest, from Wilson, NY. A class photo was taken by Ellyn Sutehall and Nancy Clees.
A great time was had by all, reminiscing about their school days. It was decided to celebrate 72 years next year with another mini reunion. This event is planned for Sunday, August 2, 2020, with a luncheon at the Colony Restaurant. Mary Lou Pagano closed the reunion with a thank you to everyone for coming.
