Press family holds 74th family reunion

Sunday, Aug. 18 looked like a bad picnic day with morning rain but by noon the sun popped out and soon it was over 80 degrees. Perfect weather by the 1 p.m. reunion time when 31 folks showed up at the Sager Picnic Grounds, Perrysburg.

Following prayer and during the usual delicious pot-luck, everyone was busy visiting and catching up on family news. Most of the guests don’t see one-another very often during the year, so this is the chance to learn of family “happenings.” Several newcomers were welcomed this year. Once couple came from Colorado; another couple from New Hampshire and another lady from near-by Fredonia. Also for the first time, a lady and her daughter came from Pennsylvania.

Melody Sloan and Myrna Moss brought several old photos and much genealogy for everyone to look over. Pictures were taken of all those present. During all the conversation, it was learned that there were four marriages, six births, three divorces during the year and many miscellaneous news items and corrections to be made to the genealogy.

Finally, after the enjoyment of reconnecting with family members, it was time for everyone to depart for home with a reminder that the next reunion will be held Aug. 16, 2020 at the Sager Picnic Grounds at 1 p.m.
