Westfield Middle School September Students of the Month announced
On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:
1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers
2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects
3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes
4. Serves as a positive role model for peers
5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of September:
For 6th grade, Lanie Schofield was selected as Student of the Month. Lanie’s favorite classes are math and ELA, because she enjoys problem solving, reading, and writing. Lanie likes spending time on her father’s dairy farm milking cows. Did you know cows like to be rubbed under their chins just like dogs do? In the future, Lanie hopes to become a bio-technologist or a news reporter.
Ryan Lack is the 7th grade Student of the Month for September. He enjoys just about all of his classes because he likes his teachers. Ryan enjoys art, and is very creative. He also expresses his creativity by playing Minecraft, and since he is an avid soccer player, he would love to become a professional soccer player some day.
The 8th grade Student of the Month is Makena Barresi. Makena likes ELA and social studies the most in school, because the teachers are really nice and those subjects are easier for her. Makena is hoping to pursue a career in the medical field after she graduates from high school. She aspires to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a Physician’s Assistant.
