Westfield Middle School announces November Students of the Month

Mason Baum, Avery Swank, and Jeminy Houser
On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:
1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers
2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects
3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes
4. Serves as a positive role model for peers
5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of November:
For 6th grade, Avery Swank was selected as Student of the Month. Avery’s favorite part of the school day is spending time in Mrs. Damcott’s class. She likes the other kids who are with her, and she thinks Mrs. Damcott is funny and nice (in fact, don’t tell anyone, but she is her favorite teacher). Avery participates in cheer, and hopes to become a Physical Education teacher some day.
Mason Baum is the 7th grade Student of the Month for October. Mason likes all of his “core” classes and loves learning. Outside of school, he enjoys fishing and hunting, and in the future, he would like to become a professional fisherman, or perhaps an MLB player, and buy a ranch in Texas.
The 8th grade Student of the Month is Jeminy Houser. Jeminy likes art, music, Spanish, science, and social studies. Her hobbies include drawing and playing video games. Jeminy is very interested in dinosaurs, and one day hopes to become a paleontologist where she can work in the field and study fossils.
