Lake Shore Senior is selected to Students Inside Albany Conference
Lake Shore Central Schools senior Colin O’Neill is one of a select few students across New York State chosen to represent our region at the Students Inside Albany Conference this spring.
He was selected by the League of Women Voters Buffalo/Niagara region and his Participation in Government teacher, Sophie Chimera, is well-acquainted with his qualifications: “He’s very civic-minded,” she says. “He volunteered for the Nate McMurray campaign, he is a Town of Evans Community Events member and also a member of the Evans Democratic Club. He also is on the Model UN team. He’s an Eagle Scout and he wants to be a lawyer.”
The conference aims to increase students’ awareness of their responsibility in representative government and the process for participating in the policy-making arena.
