The Fredonia Garden Club received a Community Pride Grant from the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation for a Community Beautification Project.

A black steel bench was installed near the Fredonia Fire Department and the Canadaway Creek bridge.The efforts of village workers Pat Volvo and Jake Christopher helped the club with the cement installation. The club will enhance and maintain this restful spot with flowers and shrubs.

Walkers can rest for a while before ascending or descending the steep West Main hill. Folks can sit and enjoy the scenery or watch the traffic.

The grant was made possible through the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations generous community minded donors. The NCCF is committed to improving the community through the promotion of local philanthropy, strategic grant making and community leadership.
