Grange elects delegates, hears reports

Chautauqua County Pomona Grange met at the Falcon’s Nest with Ross Grange as our hosts. Lois Kesby was elected as the county’s Delegate-at-Large to this year’s abbreviated State Grange meeting to be held this month at Cortland.

Acting Chaplain, Linda Kesby, shared an article about geese being communal and comparing them to humans who were also created for communities. “We need to be connected with others, especially at this time with the pandemic. God didn’t intend for us to be alone,” she said.

Tom Hebeisen reported on the fruit crops in the northern part of the county and several members commented on how productive home gardens are this year. It was noted that the National Grange Headquarters building was damaged during the riots in Washington, D.C.

In 2023, the state Grange will have its 125th anniversary and plans are being formulated for the celebration. The next meeting is planned for November. Further details will be announced when arrangements are complete.
