A little rain didn’t dampen Black Knights’ spirits at the annual Fire Prevention Week observance at Silver Creek Elementary School, which was held earlier this month.

Fire trucks, emergency vehicles and first-responders from Silver Creek, Irving, Sunset Bay, Sheridan, and the Seneca Nation descended on campus Wednesday to impart valuable safety lessons to the youngsters.

“The display of fire apparatus, firemen and firewomen teaching our elementary students in classrooms, providing tours of the fire apparatus, and driving student coloring contest winners to school with lights and sirens was nothing short of impressive,” said district Superintendent Todd A. Crandall. “We thank the men and women who volunteer their time and serve our school and communities.”
