NCCF announces BLOOM garden project

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is excited to announce the 2021 BLOOM Garden Recognition Project for northern Chautauqua County.

Bloom’s mission is to acknowledge and celebrate the work of residents who contribute vibrancy and beauty to the northern Chautauqua County region through their gardens and landscaping.

Between June 5-26, community volunteer teams will survey all yard landscapes within their individual municipality and identify landscapes meeting BLOOM criteria. A limited number of homes will be selected to receive a BLOOM 2021 garden sign/gift bag and entered into a prize raffle drawing held in July.

The project’s goal is to inspire homeowners and garden stewards to contribute to our region’s beauty and say thank you for the color, character, and value they add to our neighborhoods.

By publicly acknowledging homeowners and renters who contribute to our neighborhoods’ curb appeal, we inspire others to join forces to beautify our region.

NCCF is seeking municipalities and other groups interested in hosting the 2021 BLOOM garden recognition program in their community.

Eligible partners include civic organizations, garden clubs, chambers of commerce, neighborhood revitalization groups, municipalities, and similar organizations. Collaboration among several partners/groups can help maximize volunteer assistance.

Interested communities are encouraged to submit a Letter of Interest by March 12, 2021, to the NCCF, 212 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk, 14048. For more information, visit www.nccfoundation.org/bloom, call 716-366-4892, or email eardillo@nccfoundation.org.

Since its incorporation in 1986, the NCCF has invested more than $17 million in northern Chautauqua County through strategic grantmaking, targeted scholarships, and community collaborations. The NCCF is a tax-exempt charitable organization inherently committed to enhancing the northern Chautauqua County community and encouraging local philanthropy.
