Anna Gullo, of Fredonia, was among several students to participate in Ignatian Scholarship Days at Canisius College, during the week of April 19. The academic tradition, held virtually this year, highlights the rich intellectual life on campus through examples of outsanding faculty-student scholarship. The program includes presentations, exhibits and presentations from students within all three academic schools: the College of Arts & Sciences, the Richard J. Wehle School of Business, and the School of Education & Human Services. Gullo is a member of the Canisius College Class of 2021 and pursuing a degree in Psychology. Gullo’s Ignatian Scholarship Day presentation was titled “Social and Empathic Distancing from Undesirable Outgroups.” Canisius College is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and the premier private university in Western New York. Canisius College prepares leaders — caring, faithful individuals able to pursue and promote excellence in their communities, their professions and their service to humanity. … Mount Mercy Academy recently announced its Third Quarter Honor Roll. Area residents senior Cecilia Strang of Westfield and freshman Rylee Strefeler of Dunkirk both attained First Honors status, which is 95 and above. … Zoya Katta of Fredonia has been named to the Elmira College Dean’s List for the Winter 2021 Term. Full-time undergraduate students registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and earning a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher at the end of Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean’s List at the College.
