IRVING — Members of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Thursday evening May 5, at the Colony in Irving for their annual Founder’s Day Celebration and dinner. This is the 91st anniversary of it’s founding in 1931.

The ladies welcomed two of their Members-at-Large, Roxanne Fisk and Roberta Belote, who traveled from Florida for the event.

Prior to the dinner, Golden Circle Rituals were held for 50-year members, Janice Hipwell and Judy Travis. They received unique gold pins, framed certificates and bouquets of yellow roses and then were congratulated by their “Sisters”. Margie Boltz led grace before dinner and afterwards the Founder’s Day Program was held. Dana Haskin read the Founder’s Day Pledge and President Lois Smith welcomed Chapter members to the event. She then read the message from International President, Laura Ross Wingfield announcing the 2022-23 theme, “Friends at your Fingertips.”

Belote presented Hipwell and Travis with specially designed yellow rose tile coasters. Travis then announced the “Woman of the Year” as Dana Haskin.

She stated that she has a very vibrant personality, she offers her help in so many ways, she is the collector of pictures and articles for our Sorority Scrapbook, is a perfect “Towel Bingo” caller and has a collection of shoes we all envy. She joined our chapter in February of 2014 with her sister Nancy Furman and she exemplifies what Beta Sigma Phi is all about.

Everyone enjoyed the remainder of the evening visiting and recalling many memories of our years in this Women’s Sorority, Beta Sigma Phi.

Starting at $3.50/week.
