The Westfield Quilters’ Guild is best known for the many donation quilts given out each year to various organizations, victims of fires. This year, the group has taken on a new project of making slings for the Westfield Fire Department. Thanks to Darlene Orschek for the many, many yards of muslin she donated to the guild. To date, 95 slings, Small, Medium and Large sizes have been donated, and sewing continues on many more. The guild meets the second Saturday each month at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Those interested are welcome to join.
