Legion Auxiliary helping with area happenings

The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 held its regular monthly meeting Jan. 10, with all officers present. The previous meeting minutes were read, and treasurers report given.

Paula Pattison reported she continues to send get well and sympathy cards as needed. It as noted that we will be holding a Celebration of Life in August for a Squadron 1280 member. Unit 1280 membership is currently at 78¢% paid for the year.

For community service, a report was given that members of our unit made tote bags for foster children, and for National Security a unit member gave blood and coupons have been sent to the county chairperson to help with the “Troopons” project. The unit continues to work with the Legion and Sons on future activities.

In conjunction with the Cassadaga Village Winterfest on Saturday and Sunday, the Cassadaga Legion along with the village, is sponsoring the “Untouchables Band” Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m. at the Cassadaga Legion Hall, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga; Bubba’s Food Wagon will also be there to help with the hungries. With no further business at hand the meeting was adjourned.

Our next Unit meeting will be Tuesday Feb. 14, 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Post; all members are encouraged to attend, to help our mission to help our veterans and community.
