Brocton students head to STEM forum
Tobi Marvin, fifth-grade Teacher at Brocton Elementary School, had the pleasure of nominating several high-achieving students to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM this summer. Nominated students include, in back: Aubree DeJesus, Neil Bundy, Joshua Lanski, and Ayden Berry. In front: Raelynn Mosier, Emma Morrison, Hunter Edson, Ryder Carlton and Kyle Miller. This exciting opportunity is an Envision by WorldStrides summer program designed specifically for middle school students who have demonstrated an interest and aptitude in science, mathematics, and other areas of study related to a career in STEM. To inspire the next generation of innovators, scientists, software developers, and engineers, it’s critical that students are exposed to quality STEM education early in their academic careers. Among the numerous benefits of attending the forum Explore STEM is the opportunity for students to go beyond the classroom to directly experience a wide array of professions in the medical, engineering, programming, and forensic science fields through the forum’s interactive simulations, hands-on workshops, and speaking events with STEM experts. “I am thrilled and proud to be able to nominate so many highly skilled and motivated students to this forum. Their eagerness to learn in the areas of STEM is exciting to see and I hope that they realize how honored it is just to be nominated,” Marvin said.
