WESTFIELD — Patterson Library is announcing the long-awaited return of the Annual Auction.

A cherished tradition for Westfield, 2023’s event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Eason Hall. The event promises to be a delightful evening filled with fun, friendship and a chance to bid on some fantastic items.

The event begins with BBQ chicken dinner and a silent auction from 5 to 6:30 p.m.– the live auction begins at 6:30. Tickets for the Chiavetta’s chicken dinners are available for $15 each at the library, until they are sold out. Chicken dinner purchase is not required to bid in the auction, but diners are encouraged to stay for the fun and excitement of the live auction. Attendees are welcome to bring their own beverages of all types. Eason Hall is located at 22 Elm. St. in Westfield.

Patterson Library’s Auction is its largest event fundraiser of the year. Patterson Library is a non-profit (association) library and relies on the Patterson Society, fundraisers, and donors for 30% of its operating expenses.

Support the library and promote your business by donating gift certificates, services, antiques, or gift baskets. Business sponsorship opportunities are available. Those willing to volunteer for the event are encouraged to contact the library. All contributions are invaluable!

According to Library Director Megan Hegna, “Patterson Library’s mission is to provide information, enrichment, and inspiration for Westfield and surrounding areas.

To do that we need the support of our community members, who volunteer their time, visit us regularly, and contribute financially to our future.”

Patterson Library is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. So, in addition to supporting the library’s mission, auction donations may be tax-deductible– making donors’ generosity even more rewarding.
