Private Mikai L. Jimerson-Ocasio

Private Mikai L Jimerson-Ocasio, 18, of Gowanda graduated from U.S. Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina on Oct. 20. Private Jimerson-Ocasio successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 75 recruits in Training Platoon 2085.

While in recruit training, Private Jimerson-Ocasio achieved platoon high shooter as well as being a fireteam leader. Following 10 days home on leave followed by 21 days of recruiters assistance, he will report to Camp LeJeune for one month at Military Combat Training then Military Occupation Specialty school.
