Anderson-Lee Library sets events for December

SILVER CREEK – Anderson-Lee Library, at 43 Main St. has announced their programming for the month of December. Programs are free and open to the public.

Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main St., message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday.

Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to attend Chess Club! We will meet on Fridays from 2-3 p.m. For ages 10+ and registration is not required.

The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4).

No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend.

Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Dec. 7 and 14 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. There is a limit of 10 children and pre-registration is requested.

School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings Dec. 7 and 14 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. There is a limit of 10 children and pre-registration is requested.

Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday Dec. 7 at 6:30 pm. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

Adult Storytime, Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. Yes, it’s a thing! All adults 18 and older are invited to join us for storytime. We will read the book “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore”, by William Joyce and watch the Academy Award winning short film of the same name. There will be tea and cookies too! Come put your feet up during this busy holiday season and treat yourself to a bedtime story!

Winter Solstice Celebration, Saturday, December 16 at 10:30 am. Join us for a story about Sun Bread and then make your own to take home and bake.

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
