SILVER CREEK -- Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St., has announced its programming for the month of February. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by, message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!
The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 19 for Presidents Day.
-- Preschool Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
--- School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
-- The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
-- Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to attend Chess Club! We will meet on Fridays from 2-3pm. For ages 10+ and registration is not required. Please stop in and play!
-- Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.
-- Valentine's Day Card Making: Tuesday, Feb. 13, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to stop by between the stated hours to create beautiful one-of-a-kind greetings for your sweethearts! We provide all of the materials and you just get to create! Free for all and no registration necessary. Just stop in when you can.
-- T-Rex Tea Party: Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. If you love a tea party and you love dinosaurs, then this event is for you! Join us for stories, learn about tea party manners, eat yummy treats and visit with a special, secret guest! Feel free to wear your favorite dinosaur attire. Registration is required and is best for those young and young at heart!
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
