On Sunday, March 10 the Silver Creek Fireman’s Club not only hosted the Michael Boedo Community Foundations first Meat Raffle but also awarded the foundation with a monetary donation. The cfoundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors attending two- or four-year accreditation in a medical related degree program. These scholarships are awarded annually in three area school districts — Silver Creek Forestville and Gowanda. The foundation helps to support other nonprofits in the area with a focus on mental health and community togetherness. The foundation was made in memory of Michael Boedo a longtime TLC healthcare employee at the Lakeshore campus. He was sadly lost to an accidental overdose and a key focus of the group is to help raise awareness about mental health and overdose.
