Gowanda observed Arbor Day on April 30 by planting 10 trees in residential areas across the village. The village recently was awarded Tree City USA designation for the 22nd straight year. To date, more than 1,000 trees have been planted since the Re-Leaf Gowanda program began in 2001. Here volunteers and village personnel plant an Autumn Blaze Maple.
