Brocton names top students for month
BROCTON — Students of the month have been announced for February by Brocton Central Schools.
Eighth-grader Alivialyn Limpert has been named at Brocton Middle School, earning recognition for her steady work ethic, school involvement and clear goals for the future.
A resident of Brocton and daughter of Joanna Dobbs and Nick Limpert, Alivialyn is active both in and out of school. On the field she plays soccer. In school she participates in chorus and is an engaged student who lists math as her favorite subject.
Alivialyn balances academics with creative pursuits. Outside of school she enjoys reading, writing, and drawing or painting. She says she’s proud to be part of the Brocton School community.
Looking ahead, Alivialyn has ambitious plans. She hopes to attend the University at Buffalo and pursue law, with the goal of becoming a family law attorney. Focused and purposeful, she said her immediate priority is gaining admission to the college of her choice so she can begin the next step toward that career.
Haylie Abbey, a senior from Brocton, has been selected at Brocton High School. The daughter of Brandi Voss and Wayne Abbey, Haylie is being honored for her strong academics, long-term commitment to the arts, and active community involvement.
A dedicated performer and Drama Club member, Haylie’s musical theatre résumé reflects steady growth and leadership. As a freshman she performed in the ensemble of School of Rock, worked on the crew for Freaky Friday as a sophomore, starred as Persephone in Hadestown (Teen Edition) as a junior, and is currently playing the Stepmother in Once Upon a One More Time during her senior year. Her passion for performance is matched by a lifelong love of music–Haylie has participated in chorus since sixth grade.
In the classroom, Haylie excels as well: she earned High Honor Roll in the first quarter of the 25-26 school year. Her favorite subjects are English and chorus, and she plans to continue combining her love of teaching and the arts by attending SUNY Fredonia in fall 2026 to major in Childhood Education with a minor in Musical Theater.
Beyond school, Haylie gives back to the local community by volunteering with the Brocton-Portland Little League, and she is an alumna of Girl Scouts.
