Hospital employee recognized through ‘Bright Blue’ award

Westfield Memorial Hospital associate Jacqueline “Jackie” Francisco (recognized for her volunteerism) and WMH Administrator Dr. Rodney Buchanan present a $1,000 Highmark Bright Blue Futures Employee Recognition Award to WMH Foundation Executive Director Patricia Gaughan DiPalma. Francisco has restricted the gift to breast cancer awareness initiatives at the community hospital.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Francisco has been recognized with the Highmark Bright Blue Futures Employee Recognition Award, honoring her commitment to community service and volunteerism. The award includes a $1,000 grant designated to a nonprofit of the recipient’s choice.

Francisco donated the full award to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, restricting the gift to breast cancer awareness initiatives.

“I wear many hats in my work and volunteer efforts, but the one that fills me with the most joy is my volunteer hat,” said Francisco. “Volunteerism allows me to give back to the community in meaningful ways. Over the years, I’ve supported causes ranging from Alzheimer’s and breast cancer awareness to child abuse prevention and Meals on Wheels. Most recently, I’ve been volunteering at Westfield Memorial Hospital to support both the community and the dedicated staff who work here.”

Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, Executive Director of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, praised Francisco’s generosity. “We are pleased that Jackie chose to direct this award to the hospital Foundation,” said DiPalma. “Her dedication to breast cancer awareness and her commitment to service reflect the values of compassion and community that guide our mission. This gift helps support programs that make a meaningful difference for our patients and families.”

The Highmark Bright Blue Futures Employee Program recognizes employees who demonstrate leadership through service and a commitment to improving community health and well-being.

The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation (now in its 47th year) supports high-quality patient care working with the hospital in providing financial support with on-going philanthropic partnerships and community engagements.
