Smith-Schmidt-Krawiec families hold 64th reunion

The Smith-Schmidt-Krawiec 64th family reunion was held at the Sheridan Bay Park on Route 5 on Aug. 1 from noon to 6 p.m. This reunion is always on the first Saturday in August. Family enjoyed the new bathroom and shower facilities.
Angie Leone, Stella Granata and their committee were on hand early to set up American, Polish and Canadian flags along with all the decorations and the posters.
Susan Styborski was in charge of the registration table. It included a sign-in sheet to be included in the family photo albums. There was a 50-50 raffle. She had 5-year-old Mikey Granata helping her. He also decorated the pavilion with balloons, which were blown up by Susan.
Out-of-town family came from Florida, Aimee Giambra; from Rochester, Vinny, Allie, Gavin and Addie Granata and Bob Miller; Rose Marie Licata from Buffalo; and Louie, Kerry, Gillian and Pete Leone from Valparaiso, Ill.
The meal consisted of sausage and peppers and pierogi supplied by Joe and Rene Granata. It was tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, macaroni and pea salad, fruit salad, watermelon and a large selection of desserts.
Cornhole games were set up for the adults to enjoy. The group also enjoyed the basketball hoop and the beach.
A "Who Done It?" game was played. We all wrote something about ourselves that no one knew about and we had to guess "Who Done It?"
George Giambra set up a sound system of songs to enjoy.
The oldest members there were Joe Granata, Angie Leone and Jean Meadows. The youngest members were Alison and Vivian Seavy, Raymond Aiken, and Mikey, Gavin and Addie Granata.
Deaths remembered this year were James Schmidt on Oct. 19, 2025; Kenneth San George on Oct. 31, 2025 and Kevin Schmidt on July 26, 2026.
No births were recorded, but Michael and Jessica Granata are due in late August.
No weddings were recorded as of the Aug 1st date of the reunion, but Dawn Krull and Chris Amon were married the following week on Aug. 8.
Laurie and Ronald Siracuse celebrated their 31st anniversary on Aug. 4, 2026.
Angie Leone and Stella Granata retired from hosting the reunions. The younger family members, under the guidance of Susan Styborski, will take over for the Aug. 7, 2027 reunion.
