DAR chapter picnics in cemetery

1 min read

The Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual “Picnic in the Cemetery with Founder, Jennie Prescott” on Aug. 26 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia. Eight members were gathered at the grave of Prescott. The group brought lawn chairs and enjoyed a delightful lunch under the trees. “We feel it is important to remember our founder and honor her each year, as she began our chapter in 1898, 128 years ago,” the group stated. If you are over 18 years of age and had an ancestor who fought or gave aid to the brave soldiers who fought and won the American Revolutionary War and would like to join the organization, call Barbara Pietro at 716-392-1166 or email her at jbpietro@gmail.com.
