Time to get your OOM-PAH on. Gentlemen, button up your lederhosen and ladies, don your dirndls if you happen to have the garb. Join the festivities as the Grape Discover Center in Westfield teams up with Hofbrauhaus Buffalo and Wardynski's Meats of Buffalo to present its first Oktoberfest event.
Mark the calendar for Saturday, Oct. 3, and join in the fun beginning at noon. The event runs until 8 p.m. and will feature German beer on tap, live music by Living Room Jam Band beginning at 3:00 pm, and traditional Oktoberfest food. Some of the menu offerings include: Bratwurst, kraut, wieners, and don't forget dessert, Black Forest Torte and the ever popular, Concord grape pie.
Entry tickets to all the festivities are only $10 and entitles the ticket holder to one free beer. (Proof of age may be required to receive your beer.) Staying for the entire event? Purchase the $20 ticket that includes one-half chicken, Bavarian potato salad, dinner roll and a beer, along with a chance to win the door prize of the day (It's a biggie!). And, we haven't forgotten the children. A special "meal deal" has been created that includes the choice of a hot dog or hamburger, chips, grape juice or soda for only $10. Parking is free.
Join us for this family-friendly event. Live music and fun activities for the children will ensure a good time will be had by all. Bring you favorite lawn chair, relax and enjoy! (Coolers containing food, alcoholic beverages and other beverages are not permitted to be brought onto the grounds.)
Tickets are available online at www.grapediscoverycenter.com, or at the Grape Discovery Center. Fall hours at the Center are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upon arrival the day of Oktoberfest, check in at the registration table near the entrance to the Discovery Center to purchase your tickets, if needed. All ticket holders must check in to receive a wrist band.
