The Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club participated in the Dunkirk City Back to School Bash on Aug. 25 by sponsoring a "Tame Your Mane" event which offered free back-to-school haircuts for children.
Local barber and stylists Joshua Cave, Kat Buchanan and Maya Lapp volunteered their services, as Lions Club members aided with registration, flow of traffic, and post-cut lollipop distribution.
In all, 16 children received cuts in the two-hour time frame. This is the third year that the Lions Club has been able to provide this event.
