Mr. and Mrs. Michael Blakely

Laura A. Poweski and Michael K. Blakely were united in marriage on Oct. 26, 2019 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Mercyhurst University Christ the King Chapel in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Daniel Walsh from Holy Trinity in Dunkirk. The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Kim Poweski of Fredonia. The groom is the son of Robert and Pam Blakely of Erie.

Escorted by her father, the bride looked stunning in a strapless mermaid silhouette dress by Stella York. The moscato colored dress was covered in lace with a long elegant train. The bride’s veil, which was passed down by her sister, was cathedral length with beading. The bride’s bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of purple and peach roses, cream colored dahlias, purple caspia, white hydrangeas, and eucalyptus greenery. Her bouquet was wrapped with pieces from both of her grandmothers’ dresses.

Michelle Gilmour was matron of honor for her sister. The girls wore beautiful dusk purple gowns. Bridesmaids were Renee Pagel, close friend of the bride and groom, Kristen Delio, sister of the groom, Kaitlin Wallace, cousin of the bride, Tera Alabran, close friend of the bride and groom, Victoria Poremski, Maria Nemeth and Katie Costa, college friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Peyton Wallace, cousin of the bride. The wedding included four flower girls, Jocelyn and Mayah Alabran, friends of the bride and groom, and Harper and Remi Wallace, cousins of the bride.

Phil Kies was best man, close friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Andrew Blakely, brother of the groom; Michael Alabran, close friend of the bride and groom; Peter Stark, Tyler Antolik, Miles Gates, all friends of the groom; Christopher Gilmour, brother-in-law of the bride and Jared Delio, brother-in-law of the groom. The ring bearer was Patrick Sullivan, friend of the groom.

The reception was held at Peek-n-Peak in Clymer, New York. The bride is a graduate of Fredonia High School and a graduate of Mercyhurst University. She is employed by Calypso Enterprises. The groom is a graduate of Collegiate Academy and graduate of Fortis Institute of Technology. He is employed by Signal Tech. The happy couple honeymooned on Cancun, Mexico following the wedding. They currently reside in Erie.
