Edward Newman and the former Dolores (Lorrie) Chesbro were united in marriage on May 7, 1960. The ceremony took place at Zion Lutheran Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Frank Welkner officiating. Maid of honor was Lynn Shores McCloud, and Lewis Mead served as best man. A reception followed in the church social hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Newman have resided in Silver Creek since then and have four married children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ed and Lorrie will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in May.
