Alleged crack dealer arrested

JAMESTOWN – The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, along with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police and Ellicott Police departments, took a Buffalo man into custody Friday evening for allegedly selling crack cocaine.

Ulus C. Battle, 26, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was located on East Sixth Street.

It is alleged that Battle sold quantities of crack cocaine to agents of the task force from a location in the town of Ellicott. A search warrant was obtained to search a residence on Fairmount Avenue in the town of Ellicott. As a result of the search, Battle was charged with an additional charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for a quantity of crack cocaine located within the residence. Battle was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail. The STRDTF is comprised of members from the Dunkirk Police Department and the sheriff’s office. Authorities ask residents to report any narcotics-related activity observed in the area to the task force at 1-800-344-8702 or Dunkirk Police at 363-0313.

Friday evening Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with Vincent N. Kane, 28, of Portland. Kane was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant out of the Village of Brocton.

Subsequently during the warrant arrest it was discovered that Kane was allegedly in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and multiple smoking pipes. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned on the bench warrant in the Town of Chautauqua Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.
