17-year-old female charged with DWI in Pomfret

A 17-year-old female from Fredonia was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and operating after 9 p.m. with a Class DJ license on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret Saturday morning.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:40 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle pulled over on the side of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the teenager, who resides on Main Road. After an investigation, the teenager was alleged to have been intoxicated.

Also in the vehicle was an 18-year-old male of Highland Avenue in Brocton, who was alleged to have been in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. He was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both subjects were released with tickets to appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.
