State Police in Fredonia

CHERRY CREEK – Lucinda Sheldon, 24, of Cherry Creek was charged Dec. 21 with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded to a report of a harassment and found a verbal argument became physical when Sheldon allegedly struck a victim in the upper back with both fists. Sheldon was issued a ticket and will appear in Cherry Creek Town Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Jesse Borrello, 18, of Forestville was charged Dec. 19 with unlawful possession of marijuana and following too closely after a traffic stop on Prospect Road. During the stop, troopers allegedly smelled marijuana and investigation found approximately 1 gram of marijuana and a smoking pipe with marijuana residue. Borrello was issued tickets and will appear in Hanover Town Court.

PORTLAND – Ellen Pierce, 44, of Brocton was charged Dec. 23 with fourth-degree stalking after an investigation. Troopers received a complaint that Pierce was told repeatedly to have no contact with the victim and investigation found she had allegedly continued to contact the victim, causing unnecessary stress, sleep deprivation and made it impossible for the victim to live in peace. Pierce was arraigned in Portland Town Court and released on her own recognizance.

John Herdzik, 30, of Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny after troopers were called to Tops in the town of Dunkirk for a complaint of shoplifting. Investigation found Herdzik had taken two lobster tails and two five-pound packages of shrimp, valued at $84. He was issued a ticket and will appear in Dunkirk Town Court.

CHARLOTTE – Kevin L. Bellardo Jr., 18, of Lakewood, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct after a report of a disorderly person on Pine Acres Drive. Upon deputies’ arrival, the individual ran from the scene. K-9 Drago was able to locate the individual a short time later and identified as Bellardo. While deputies investigated the complaint, Bellardo again allegedly became disorderly and was taken into custody. He was issued a ticket and will appear in Charlotte Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Allegra P. Uva, 23, of Mayville, was charged Saturday with no turn signal, driving while intoxicated and DWI per se after a traffic stop on Lakeview Avenue around 1 a.m. Uva was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. She was later released with tickets to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

Speeding vehicle leads to drug charges

NORTH HARMONY – New York State Police allegedly found marijuana and methamphetamine after a traffic stop of a tractor trailer for speeding on Interstate 86 Sunday.

Troopers pulled over the vehicle for going 79 in a 65 mph zone around 3:30 p.m. and allegedly smelled marijuana. Approximately 8 grams of marijuana and a small amount of methamphetamine were found.

The driver Peter L. Spray, 42 and his passenger Brandis M. Hay, 32, (no addresses given) were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Spray was also given tickets for speeding and log book violations.

Spray and Hay were arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.

FRENCH CREEK – Richard Stritzinger, 62, of Clymer, was charged Dec. 26 with failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated and DWI per se after a traffic stop on Route 474. Investigation found Stritzinger to be intoxicated. He was issued tickets and will appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

Thomas Grover, 59, of Jamestown was taken into custody Dec. 22 on an active warrant for second-degree harassment after being stopped for speeding on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. Troopers found the warrant was active for Grover from the Jamestown Police Department. He was issued a traffic ticket for speeding and transported to Jamestown Police.

HANOVER – Kristy Dombrowski, 32, of Silver Creek was charged Dec. 20 with operating a vehicle with .08 percent or more alcohol in blood – first offense, driving while intoxicated – first offense and speeding after a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20. Dombrowski allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Fredonia barracks, where she registered a .14 percent blood alcohol content. She was issued tickets and will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE – Gregory Auge, 32, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, less than two lighted headlamps and refusing a pre-screen breath test on Sunday.

At 2:30 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly having less than two lighted headlamps. Following an investigation, the driver, Auge, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Fires ruled accidental

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investi-gation Team announced Sunday that two separate, local house fires that took place Saturday within just hours of each other have been deemed accidental.

The first blaze took place at 10537 Center Road in Sheridan around 12:45 p.m. Following an investigation, the fire was determined to have originated on the kitchen stove due to overheated cooking oil left unattended. The Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The second incident occurred at about 4:05 p.m. at 9683 Dye Road in the town of Villenova. Following an investigation, the fire was determined to have started as a result of an exposed electrical wire that made contact with metal building material.

Loaded gun allegedly found during traffic stop

ASHVILLE – A Pennsylvania man has been charged after he was allegedly found in possession of a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by Trevor A. Jackson, 24, of Warren, was stopped for speeding on North Maple Avenue Saturday.

Police allegedly found drug paraphernalia, a quantity of marijuana and a loaded handgun during the stop. Jackson was charged with speeding and felony criminal possession of a firearm. He was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

A passenger, Jessica L. Fields, 24, of New Jersey was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and released with an appearance ticket.

GERRY – Toby M. Sanders, 21, of Brocton was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sunday.

Deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding on Route 60 where police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Sanders, a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.

Sanders was released to appear in Gerry Town Court at a later date.

Florida fugitive nabbed by city police

On Monday at about 7:30 p.m., the Dunkirk Police Department developed information that Ramon Novoa-Ayende, 30, was a fugitive from Osceola County, FL and might be at an upper apartment at 610 Park Ave. in the city.

Officers did locate Novoa-Ayende hiding in a closet.

He is wanted on Florida charges of burglary of a dwelling, third degree grand theft, four counts of dealing in stolen property (trafficking) and three counts of receiving money from pawnbroker by false verification of ownership or identification (less than $300).

Novoa-Ayende was locked up and will be arraigned in Dunkirk City Court for fugitive of justice.

CHAUTAUQUA – Angus R. Calhoun, 23, of Sherman, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated, uninspected vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 430 around 2 a.m.

Calhoun allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Jamestown barracks, where a blood alcohol content of .13 percent was obtained.

Calhoun was issued appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court and was released to a third party.

Enoc Ramos, 35, of Bucknor Street was charged with following too closely and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after a two-vehicle, rear-end accident on Dec. 16 around 4:45 p.m. on Deer Street at the intersection with Sixth Street.

A pedestrian was injured on Wednesday after an accident in the parking lot at 653 Brigham Road. According to an accident report, Andrea Dorman, 29, of Cattaraugus told police she did not see the pedestrian, Cheryl Howard, 45, of Silver Creek, walking as she was searching for a parking space around 7 a.m. Howard was apparently struck in her back by the front end of Dorman’s vehicle and was taken to the hospital for unknown injuries. No charges were filed.

LaBaron Booker, 45, of Ruggles Street was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on Wednesday and petit larceny on Thursday.

Douglas Parsons, 27, of Lake Shore Drive West was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and no brake lights on Thursday.

Richard Balzer, 51, of Washington Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct on Thursday.

Shaunqualia Maxwell, 24, of Leopard Street was charged with following too closely after a two-vehicle, rear-end accident on Thursday around 7:30 p.m. on Lake Shore Drive East at the intersection with Main Street.

Byron Oaks, 26, of Canary Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Friday.

Ladarren Watts, 22, of Pike Street was charged with third-degree assault on Saturday.

Anthony West, 38, of Maple Avenue was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Saturday.

Maria Sams, 21, of East Main Street, Fredonia, was charged with second-degree harassment on Sunday.

Matthew Katz, 20, of Little Neck was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of alcohol and speeding on Friday.

HARMONY – Tiffany K. Ferguson, 32, of Panama, was charged Friday with second-degree trespass and second-degree harassment after an alleged altercation at a residence on Panama-Bear Lake Road. An investigation revealed that Ferguson allegedly entered and remained in the dwelling unlawfully after being told numerous times to leave.

It is alleged while at the residence, Ferguson pinched an individual in the mouth, causing the person’s lip to bleed. She was issued appearance tickets for Harmony Town Court at a later date.

ELLICOTT – Savanna Jo Daelhousen, 28, of Tidioute, Pa., was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding after a traffic stop on Fairmount Avenue around 12:15 a.m. She was allegedly found to be intoxicated. Daelhousen was issued appearance tickets for Ellicott Town Court.

MAYVILLE – A 16-year-old Westfield male was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Saturday after he allegedly punched several holes in the walls of a South Erie Street apartment complex around 10:30 p.m. He was issued an appearance ticket for Chautauqua Town Court.

CLYMER – Theodore Jaggi, 54, of Corry, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speed not reasonable and failure to maintain lane on Sunday.

Around 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle property damage accident on Nazareth Road. An investigation allegedly found Jaggi to be operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

He was taken into custody and was issued traffic tickets to appear in Clymer Town Court at a later date.

Irving teen charged after altercation

HANOVER – A physical altercation, which included a head-butting and the use of a baseball bat to strike another individual, has led to charges against an 18-year-old from Irving.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies reported John L. McLaughlin III of 445 Main Road was charged with felony second-degree assault and felony third-degree criminal mischief after the incident on Friday around 1:40 p.m. at his home. According to the report, in addition to the altercation, McLaughlin broke a door handle and threw a video game console out of a second-floor window.

The victim was taken to Lake Shore Hospital while McLaughlin was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 property bond.

Jamestown woman charged with armed robbery

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown woman is behind bars following an armed robbery Friday night.

Jamestown Police report Kimberly A. Ballenger, 25, of Jamestown, robbed the Kwik Fill store on Forest Avenue around 10 p.m.

During the incident, the suspect allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun as she demanded cash from the register. Ballenger then fled the store on foot and was located a short time later by police after a description was broadcast to other patrol units in the area.

Ballenger was charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree menacing. Officers located the money from the robbery in Ballenger’s possession and also recovered an authentic air-soft pistol that was used in the crime.

Ballenger is currently being held in Jamestown City Jail as she awaits arraignment.

PORTLAND – Darien R. Draggett, 20, of Fredonia, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after deputies observed a suspicious vehicle parked at Evergreen Cemetery on Webster Road. Deputies allegedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle and Draggett was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Portland Town Court at a later date.

STOCKTON – Troopers responded Sunday to a report of a reckless operator driving on the wrong side of the road in the towns of Stockton and Pomfret. A concerned citizen followed the vehicle and kept dispatch informed of its location. The vehicle was located in a driveway on Shumla Road. An interview with the operator, Joann Draggett, 54, of Falconer, allegedly found her to be intoxicated. Draggett allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later tests revealed a .09 percent blood alcohol content. She was issued appearance tickets for failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated – first offense and operating a motor vehicle with .08 percent or more blood alcohol content – first offense for Pomfret Town Court and failure to keep right for Stockton Town Court. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s assisted by interviewing witnesses.

CHARLOTTE – Thomas O’Brien, 29, Dunkirk, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and no plate after a traffic stop on Route 60. Troopers allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle and O’Brien was found in possession of marijuana. He was issued appearance tickets for Charlotte Town Court.

JAMESTOWN – Zachary T. Hopkins, 25, of Sinclairville, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Third Street around 2 a.m. Hopkins allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Jamestown barracks. A blood alcohol content of .13 percent was obtained. Hopkins was issued an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court and was released to a third party.

COLDSPRING – Jennifer M. McIntyre, 30, of Salamanca, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Interstate 86 around 10 p.m. Troopers allegedly smelled alcohol and performed field sobriety tests. McIntyre was transported to the Jamestown barracks where a blood alcohol content of .08 was obtained. McIntyre was issued an appearance ticket for Cold Spring Town Court.

PORTLAND – Christopher Schuster, 25, of Westfield, was charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 20. Troopers allegedly smelled marijuana and Schuster was allegedly found in possession of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket for Portland Town Court.

William Clutter, 60, of South Dayton, was charged Friday with failure to signal lane change and unlicensed operator after a traffic stop on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. A computer check allegedly revealed three active bench warrants for bad checks and misapplication of $7,500 property bail issued by Jamestown City Court. Clutter was issued traffic tickets and handed over to Jamestown Police.

SILVER CREEK – Katrynia L.M. Bailey, 23, of Robinson Street was charged with second-degree making an apparently sworn false statement on Dec. 10. It is alleged Bailey gave deputies a false statement about a previous crime. Bailey was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK – Luis M. Mojico-Feliciano, 32, of Main Street was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment on Sunday. Mojico-Feliciano had allegedly started an altercation with another male that resulted in physical injuries. Mojico-Feliciano was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.

Mayville man charged under Leandra’s Law

NORTH HARMONY – A 39-year-old Mayville man has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law after police say he drove drunk with a child in the vehicle on Sunday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 6:50 p.m., deputies stopped Gregory Wolcott’s vehicle on Wall Street in the town of North Harmony for observed traffic infractions. Upon investigation, he was allegedly found to be intoxicated.

Wolcott will appear in North Harmony Town Court to answer the charges, which include DWI common law, aggravated DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, failure to signal a turn, moved from lane unsafely and endangering the welfare of a child.

Forestville woman allegedly hits police

SILVER CREEK – A 66-year-old Forestville woman has been charged with second-degree harassment after police say she became aggressive with them and struck them on Sunday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 7:20 p.m., deputies responded to an incident on Jackson Street in the village of Silver Creek. Joanne Jindra of Bradigan Road, Forestville, was placed under arrest and was later released with an appearance ticket for Silver Creek Village Court.

Timothy Williams III, 28, of Rochester was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree criminal impersonation on Dec. 3.

Alvin Jusino, 19, of Lincoln Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Dec. 6.

Noel Dominguez Jr., 25, of Brigham Road, Fredonia, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed in zone, refused breath test, operating without an interlock device, unlawful possession of marijuana and open container on Dec. 6.

Mark Mekus, 36, of Townsend Street was charged with petit larceny on Dec. 8.

Brandon Hough, 30, of Park Avenue was charged with third-degree criminal tampering on Dec. 10.

Luz Torres, 49, of Temple Street, Fredonia, was charged with driving while intoxicated and no turn signal on Saturday.

Samuel Labley, 32, of South Roberts Road was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree assault on Saturday.

Christopher Thomas, 46, of Middle Road was charged with disorderly conduct on Saturday.

Robin Diers, 33, of Brocton was charged with driving while ability impaired, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to use designated lane, operating without an interlock device and no brake light on Sunday.

Mary Cole, 63, of Matteson Street, Fredonia, was charged with failure to stop at a red light on Monday after a two-vehicle sideswipe accident around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Millard Fillmore Avenue and Main Street Extension.

According to an accident report, Cole was westbound on Millard Fillmore Avenue and failed to stop at a red light, thus causing her to collide with Joel Moser, 22, of Townsend Street, who was northbound on Main Street Extension and had the right of way.

Brian Lidlow, 33, of Washington Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Dec. 6.

Mikhail Atkins, 23, of Water Street was charged with disorderly conduct on Dec. 7.

Ashley Campbell, 18, of Center Road was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and larceny on Dec. 7.

Amaris Lamercado, 23, of Rochester was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Dec. 7.

Thomas Gould, 19, of Forestville was charged with larceny on Dec. 7.

Christopher Comerford, 44, of White Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, failure to comply and emerging from an alley, lot or building on Dec. 9.

Andrew McKillip, 23, of Forest Place was charged with failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk after he allegedly struck Tianqi Liu, 25, of Sahle Place on Dec. 10 around 6:45 p.m. on Central Avenue near Forbes Place.

Liu was transported to the Erie County Medical Center via Alstar Ambulance for an apparent head injury.

Paul Forth III, 26, of Central Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of a governmental administration, fourth-degree stalking and failure to comply on Friday.

Patrick Fallon, 21, of Orchard Park was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday.

Bradley Feeney, 19, of SUNY Fredonia’s Gregory Hall was charged with petit larceny on Saturday.

William Bess, 50, of Middle Road, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Sunday.

Corey Kaus, 26, of Dunkirk, was charged Friday with petit larceny after a Walmart asset protection employee reported some DVDs stolen. The employee allegedly flagged down troopers and identified a suspect who had taken four DVDs valued at $120.84. A traffic stop was conducted and all the items were allegedly located in Kaus’ possession. Kaus was released with an appearance for Fredonia Village Court.

Four youths charged with arson

JAMESTOWN – Four youths were charged with arson Friday following a fire in the city of Jamestown.

According to Jamestown Police, the Jamestown Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 44 W. Ninth St. Upon arrival, flames and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the first floor. The residence was vacant and had been condemned for some time.

Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson and that the fire had been set on the first floor.

Witnesses reported seeing four youths leave the residence prior to the fire.

Investigators identified and located two 16 year olds, a 14 year old and 13 year old who allegedly started the fire inside the house.

The two 16-year-old youths were charged with third-degree arson, a class C felony, and third-degree burglary, a class D felony. They are currently being held in city jail awaiting arraignment. The 13 and 14 year old were released to their parents and will appear in Family Court at a later date.

Jamestown Police identify meth fire suspect

JAMESTOWN – Investigators in the Jamestown Police Department are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a man identified as having started the fire at 824 Prendergast Ave. on Nov. 20 caused by a meth lab explosion.

A Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force investigation allegedly found Christopher L. Swanson, 43, started the fire while manufacturing a meth lab in the upper apartment. Swanson allegedly fled the residence prior to police and fire departments responding. It is known Swanson sustained burns as a result of the fire.

Jamestown Police have issued a felony warrant for Swanson’s arrest on the charge of unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Anyone with information on Swanson’s whereabouts is asked to call the JPD’s anonymous tip line at 483-Tips.

RIPLEY – Cody Rater, 19, of Ripley was charged Tuesday with inadequate muffler, side windows not transparent and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 5. Rater was allegedly found in possession of marijuana and was issued appearance tickets for Ripley Town Court.

John M. Cullen, 23, of Hamburg, was charged Saturday with failure to signal a turn and driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret around 3:50 a.m. Cullen was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and posted bail.

RIPLEY – Billy Kuhn, 39, of Ripley was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, unlicensed operator and inadequate headlights after a traffic stop on Route 20 around 10:15 p.m. Kuhn was allegedly found to be intoxicated and allegedly did not have a valid New York state driver’s license. He was issued tickets and will appear in Ripley Town Court at a later date.

Irving man allegedly chokes victim

IRVING – A 39-year-old Irving man was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail Saturday night after police say he choked an individual during a physical altercation.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence at 1053 Routes 5 and 20 around 9 p.m. Upon investigation, it was determined John Wasierski, who resided at that address, not only allegedly choked the victim, but also reportedly took the victim’s cell phone, thus preventing the person from contacting emergency services.

Wasierski was arraigned in Hanover Town Court on the charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood flow and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Woman charged in city accident

A 23-year-old Dunkirk woman was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after a two-vehicle accident at the corner of Doughty and King streets in the city of Dunkirk Saturday afternoon.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, the woman, Jenna Corsi of Washington Avenue, was traveling north on King Street around 12:35 p.m. and attempted to stop for a two-way stop sign when her brakes failed to stop her vehicle. The vehicle then apparently proceeded to enter into oncoming traffic on Doughty Street, where it was struck by a vehicle driven by Alisa Seibert, 18, of West Main Street, Fredonia, who was traveling east and had the right of way.

Corsi and Seibert were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to the Dunkirk Fire Department.

FALCONER – Aaron Houser, 19, of Jamestown was charged with violating the New York State Zero Tolerance Law, unlawful possession of alcohol under age 21, no plate lamps and no rear bumper on Sunday.

Around 2:30 a.m., Sheriff’s patrol observed a vehicle reportedly operating without a rear bumper on East Main Street. The vehicle was stopped and Houser was identified as the alleged driver. Following an investigation, it was alleged that Houser operated the vehicle after having consumed alcohol under the age of 21. Police also reportedly discovered a 30-pack of beer in the vehicle.

Houser will face a DMV administrative hearing and will appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

KIANTONE – Kortney D. Carlson, 26, of Jamestown, was charged Saturday around 1:55 a.m. with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, unlawful possession of marijuana, speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to maintain lane after a report of a single-vehicle crash on South Avenue. Investigation found Carlson was traveling on Howard Street and drove through the T-shaped intersection with South Avenue. The vehicle continued about 75 feet, allegedly causing damage to a residential lawn. Carlson was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for processing. She was allegedly found in possession of marijuana. Carlson was released with appearance tickets for Kiantone Town Court.

JAMESTOWN – Glenn L. Roberts, 54, of Jamestown, was charged Friday around 7:20 p.m. with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and speeding after a traffic stop on Baker Street. Roberts was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was released with appearance tickets for Jamestown City Court.

Police release names for meth bust

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have identified two men charged with making methamphetamine at 307 Allen St., Apartment 1, on Wednesday.

Richard S. Dean, 38, of Jamestown, and Donald R. King, 35, of Jamestown have been charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony. They were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned in City Court. Charges against a third person who was found inside the apartment at the time of the incident are pending.

Dean had previously been charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree and second-degree criminal possession of meth-manufacturing material after the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force investigated a methamphetamine manufacturing operation on Layafette Street and at an apartment listed as Dean’s address at 238 Forest Ave.

King, meanwhile, had been charged in November 2013 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a vehicle he was driving was pulled over on the arterial at Forest Avenue for having improper/switched license plates. Jamestown police officers reported finding 4.5 grams of cocaine in the car and charged both King and a passenger in the vehicle.

Gowanda man faces drug charges

PERSIA – After an eight-month investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Gowanda Police Department, Nathan Bley, 18, of 24 Allen St., Gowanda was charged Thursday around 7 p.m. with two counts of third-degree criminal sales of a controlled substance, and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

During the operation, Bley allegedly sold heroin to undercover agents on two separate occasions. Bley was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

William Adorno, 27, of Lake Shore Drive West and Jose Rivera, 22, of Woodrow Avenue were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Nov. 26. Adorno was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.

Angel Oquendo, 42, of One Temple Square, Fredo-nia, was charged with second-degree harassment Sunday.

Fredonia Police

Angel Perez-Morales, 34, of Swan Street, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Saturday.

James Crocker Jr., 43, of Seymour Street was charged with petit larceny, second-degree obstruction of a governmental administration and disorderly conduct Sunday.

New York State Police at Jamestown

CARROLL – On Nov. 29, New York State Police responded to Ivory Road in Frewsburg to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident and arrested the driver, Cody L. Confer, 23, of Jamestown.

Confer stated he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. He was taken to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol level of .14 percent was obtained. Confer was issued tickets for driving while intoxicated and is to appear in Carroll Town Court. He was released to a third party.

FRENCH CREEK – Michael S. Gibbons, 44, of Clymer was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated on Sunday. Deputies stopped Gibbons’ vehicle for allegedly speeding on Reagan Road at 2:36 a.m. Gibbons was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and released to appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Ronald Szafranski, 21, of Perrys-burg was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunday. Deputies responded to Routes 5 and 20 for the report of an alleged erratic driver at 2 p.m. The driver, Szafranski, was found in a parking lot of a local business. Szafranski was found to be allegedly impaired by drugs and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

ARKWRIGHT – Christopher J. Schroeder, 19, of Brocton was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, operating with suspended registration, operating without insurance, uninspected motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana on Monday. Deputies stopped Schroeder’s vehicle on Route 83 at 7:36 a.m., for an alleged traffic violation. Schroeder was allegedly operating a vehicle without insurance, registration or inspection and his driving privileges were suspended. Schroeder was found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana. He was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court due to Arkwright Town Court unavailability. Schroeder was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set at $1,250 cash or $2,500 property.

New York State Police at Fredonia

On Thursday at 2:52 a.m., Fredonia New York State Police stopped a vehicle on Christy Road in the town of Pomfret for an obstructed plate.

While the officer interviewed the driver, Travis Franklin, 26, of Clay, Kentucky, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from him. The operator also had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and impaired motor coordination.

Franklin failed all field sobriety tests and was arrested allegedly for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Fredonia barracks and processed with a blood alcohol level of .09 percent.

Franklin was issued uniform traffic tickets for first offense driving while intoxicated, first offense operating a motor vehicle with .08 percent or higher, and a registration plate display violation, all returnable today at Pomfret Town Court.

HANOVER – On Friday, Fredonia New York State Police stopped a vehicle on the Thruway westbound near Exit 58, for driving in the left lane of travel, but not passing any vehicles.

A passenger, Zachary Buli, 20, of Buffalo surrendered a marijuana cigarette. Buli was processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable to Hanover Town Court on Dec. 8.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

DAYTON – David R. Korzen, 60, of Cheektowaga was charged Nov. 23 with driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Police stopped Korzen’s vehicle for allegedly operating erratically on Peck Hill Road. Korzen was allegedly varying speeds and crossing both the center line and onto the shoulder prior to being stopped. Korzen was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Dayton Town Court.

New York State Police at Collins

EVANS – On Nov. 16, troopers charged William Woodworth, 50, of Angola for driving while intoxicated on Point Breeze Drive.

Woodworth fled the scene as troopers and Evans Police Department chased him. He was found on the beach near Castaways Bar and was taken into custody.

He was processed at Collins barracks with a blood alcohol level of .11 percent, and is due in Evans Court later this month.

COLLINS – On Nov. 20, troopers charged Joshua Sanchez, 21, of North Collins with unlawful possession of marijuana, following a car accident.

The passenger, Sanchez, of the accident involving property damage on Route 62 in Collins was found to be in possession of two grams of marijuana. He is due in Collins Town Court this month.

PERRYSBURG – On Nov. 25, troopers charged Markie Graves, 22, of Gowanda for driving while intoxicated following a personal injury accident on Route 39 near Jolls Road.

Graves claimed she swerved to miss a deer and exited the highway, struck a mailbox, and then the nearby house. The impact damaged the basement wall and foundation of the house. She and her passenger were sent to Lake Shore Hospital with minor injuries. There were no injuries to the residents of the home.

Graves is due in Perrysburg Town Court later this month.

NORTH COLLINS – On Nov. 26, troopers charged Jacob Halbert, 25, of Hamburg for second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Troopers stopped him on Route 62 when he failed to keep right, he had a suspended driver’s license, and heroin residue was found in his vehicle.

Halbert is due in North Collins Court later this month.
