Alleged meth cook found in Louisiana
A Lakewood man wanted in connection with the operation of a methamphetamine lab in the town of Westfield is in police custody.
Christopher L. Swanson, 44, of 41 W. Summit Ave., Lakewood, was taken into custody in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday at approximately 3:30 a.m. following a joint investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, NYSP Violent Felony Squad, U.S. Marshals Service, Orleans Parish La. Sheriff’s Office, Lakewood-Busti Police Department and the Jamestown Police Department.
Swanson was wanted on a Chautauqua County Grand Jury indictment warrant from an investigation by the STRDTF alleging he operated a meth lab in the Town of Westfield. In addition, Swanson was wanted on local court arrest warrants from the Lakewood-Busti and Jamestown police departments for allegedly operating meth labs in the Town of Busti and City of Jamestown.
Information obtained by the STRDTF and NYSP Violent Felony Squad led authorities to believe Swanson would be in New Orleans early Saturday morning. The intel was passed on to the U.S. Marshall’s Office and forwarded to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office who were able to locate Swanson and take him into custody.
Swanson will be extradited to Chautauqua County where he will initially be arraigned on the grand jury warrant and then subsequently on the local warrants. There are also outstanding warrants pertaining to similar charges for Swanson from the state of Alaska.
East Otto man dies
in Ashford accident

ASHFORD – A 44-year-old East Otto man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning on Route 219 in the town of Ashford.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, around 7:20 a.m., George Peterson of Bowen Road, East Otto, was operating his 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound when he crossed over the double yellow line, into the path of a 2004 Peterbilt log truck.
The vehicles reportedly collided head-on in the northbound lane. Police say the log truck continued north into the northbound ditch, while the pickup came to rest on the guardrail on the southbound lane.
Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The owner and operator of the log truck, Scott Timothy, 43, of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, was taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital via Springville Ambulance for minor injuries. He was later released.
No charges were filed in the case.
The New York State Police, Ellicottville Police Department, West Valley Hose Company and East Otto and Springville fire departments assisted with the incident.

in Fredonia

A 50-year-old Buffalo woman accused of prostitution was reportedly found in a Fredonia hotel on Monday.
According to the Fredonia Police Department, officers were requested to investigate two separate complaints at two separate business establishments on Bennett Road in the village of Fredonia, for the crimes of grand larceny and forgery.
Police say the subject of the investigation was located at the hotel around 9 a.m. and was identified as Alice Triplett. A check for warrants on the named subject revealed that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for prostitution, issued by the Amherst Town Justice Court.
Triplett was subsequently turned over to members of the Amherst Police Department. The Fredonia Police investigation is still ongoing and its conclusion is pending.

NORTH HARMONY – Joshua Reyes, 21, of Jamestown was charged with false personation on Saturday.
Around 5:10 a.m., depu-ties made contact with a male subject on Route 394. The male subject allegedly provided deputies with multiple false names and a false date of birth after being advised of the consequences of providing false information. After an investigation, the male subject was identified as Joshua Reyes.
Reyes was issued an appearance ticket for North Harmony Town Court.
CLYMER – Marvin Bender, 22, of Clymer and a 16-year-old Clymer youth were charged with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on Sunday.
Around 12:45 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 474. When deputies requested information from one of the passengers, who was later identified as the 16-year-old Clymer youth, the youth allegedly became disorderly. The youth was issued appearance tickets for disorderly conduct, possession of alcohol under 21 years of age and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
A male passenger, who was identified as Bender, was also found to be in alleged possession of an open container of alcohol and was issued a traffic ticket.
Both subjects will appear in Clymer Town Court.
RIPLEY – Benjamin Szymanowski, 32, of Ripley was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on Sunday.
Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to an alleged incident on Route 76. After an investigation, Szymanowski was arrested and arraigned in Ripley Town Court. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

Mariah G. Santiago, 23, of Central Avenue, Dunkirk was charged with petit larceny on Thursday.
Santiago allegedly stole items from Tops Markets in the town of Dunkirk just before 3 p.m.
Santiago was released to appear in Dunkirk Town Court.
Dennis Clemens Jr., 50, of Stone Road, Fredonia, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, driving while ability impaired by alcohol and drugs, failure to keep right and two counts of failure to stop at a stop sign on Saturday.
Around 2 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign on Eagle Road at Route 60 in the town of Pomfret.
While attempting to stop the vehicle, deputies also observed the vehicle allegedly cross into the opposite lane of traffic and fail to stop at a stop sign at Webster Road and Porter Avenue.
The vehicle was stopped on Porter Avenue and the driver, Clemens, was allegedly found to be impaired by alcohol and drugs.
A record check showed that Clemens had a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, making this arrest a felony.
He was issued tickets for Pomfret Town Court.

HANOVER – Angelica L. Parks, 36, of Dunkirk, was charged early Saturday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, failure to keep right and unsafe tire after deputies observed a vehicle in the ditch on Overhiser Road around 12:30 a.m. An investigation found Parks was allegedly operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. She was issued tickets and will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – Jessica M. Metzler, 22, of Farmington, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated common law, aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to stop at a stop sign after she was allegedly observed not stopping at the corner of Parkway and Central Avenue. Metzler was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. She was arraigned and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

City man arrested on drug charges

A city of Dunkirk man was taken into custody on drug-related charges Friday afternoon. According to police, Charles J. Fredrick, 40, of Ruggles Street was stopped by members of the Dunkirk Police Department and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force on Main Street shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Police had a search warrant signed by Chautauqua County Court Judge John Ward. As a result of the search, police seized approximately 1 ounce of cocaine, a large amount of cash, a scale for weighing narcotics, a quantity of marijuana and a late model vehicle.
Fredrick is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and additional charges are pending. As a result of Friday’s seizure, a Pomfret Town Court warrant was signed by Justice Pulci and searched a residence on Ruggles Street in the city of Dunkirk. As a result of that search, a quantity of marijuana and currency was seized. Fredrick will face additional charges from the Ruggles Street search.
Fredrick is being held at the Dunkirk City Jail pending arraignment. He will then be sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

Fredonia man found not wearing pants
A 51-year-old Fredonia resident has been charged after police found him allegedly not wearing pants or underwear in public.
According to the New York State Police at Fredonia, troopers responded to Route 60 in the town of Pomfret Thursday for the report of a suspicious male sitting at a resident’s picnic table. Upon arrival, police found Joseph Rolling Jr., walking around while allegedly not wearing pants or underwear. Rolling was charged with public lewdness and was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.
Four charged in Jamestown meth bust
A Jamestown man who had been wanted on outstanding felony warrants related to the manufacture of methamphetamine was charged and taken to the Jamestown City Jail after a drug raid on West Fifth Street on Thursday.
Beau K.C. Jones, 30, is one of four area residents facing charges of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A2 felony, and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine after a raid at 7:20 p.m. Thursday at 600 W. Fifth St., Jamestown. Police had been looking for Jones after finding a meth lab on Feb. 12 at 242 McKinley Ave. Jones had also been charged in October 2014 after a meth bust at 607 Lafayette St. and was charged in October 2013 after a traffic stop by Jamestown police officers turned up cocaine and marijuana in the car.
On Thursday, Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant at West Fifth Street property and found a one pot method meth lab with more than four ounces of meth oil and a quantity of methamphetamine.
In addition to Jones, Rocco Beardsley, 29, Brandon M. Smith, 28, and Aimee L. Hogg, 29, were found in the apartment. All were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A2 felony, and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they can be arraigned.
Beardsley was charged with third- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in April 2013 after an investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. He also pleaded guilty in April 2008 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine in a case that involved 10 other co-conspirators who distributed drugs from Buffalo to Jamestown. That conviction came with a term of 57 months in state prison and three years supervised release.
Assisting with the investigation were the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.

Vehicle parked on lawn leads to charges
WESTFIELD – A vehicle parked on a residential lawn led to charges for an Albion driver Thursday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies and Westfield Police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle on a lawn on East Campbell Street shortly after 11 p.m. The caller reported an unknown vehicle had pulled off the roadway onto their lawn and then drove through the lawn to the back of the house. There was not enough room for the vehicle so it allegedly reversed and went through the front lawn.
The caller was able to get a partial plate number as the vehicle returned to the street and headed toward South Portage Street. The vehicle was located on South Portage Street and the driver was identified as Shane C. Baes, 39.
Baes was found to be allegedly intoxicated and refused a pre-breath test. Baes was charged with failure to keep right, refusal to submit to a pre-breath test and driving while intoxicated in addition to trespassing, a charge from Westfield Police.
Baes was arraigned in Westfield Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

CHAUTAUQUA – Jacob J. Davidson, 19, of Westfield, was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault as a result of an investigation into an incident in December. Davidson allegedly struck another person in the head twice with a metal pipe, causing physical injury. Davidson was issued a ticket and will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

Richard Raynor II, 23, of Fredonia was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of marijuana after troopers stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret for speeding. While interviewing the operator, an odor of marijuana was reportedly detected emanating from inside the vehicle.
The passenger, Raynor, claimed ownership of the marijuana located in the vehicle. Raynor was additionally found to have an active arrest warrant for second-degree obstructing governmental administration from the City of Jamestown Police Department.
The operator was issued a traffic ticket for speeding. Raynor was issued an appearance ticket, transported to the City of Jamestown Police Department and turned over on their active warrant for second-degree obstructing governmental administration .

Man allegedly sold stolen phonograph

WESTFIELD – A 37-year-old Westfield man was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail after police say he sold an old Edison phonograph that had been stolen.
According to New York State Police at Fredonia, Brock Tyrrell was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Monday. A joint investigation with the Machias State Police revealed Tyrrell allegedly sold the phonograph to a Westfield business.
He was arrested on a warrant issued by Westfield Village Court. Tyrrell was processed at the police barracks in Fredonia and arraigned in Westfield Village Court. He was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or $6,000 secured bond.

JAMESTOWN – Nicole M. Oste, 32, of Jamestown, was charged Wednesday with misuse of food stamps and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument, all Class-E felonies.
Oste was charged in connection with a welfare fraud investigation, which found she allegedly did not notify the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services that a member of her household was employed and receiving wages. This allowed Oste to receive $2,525 in SNAP food benefits between Dec. 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 that she was i8inelligible for.
Oste allegedly failed to report the employment on two separate applications. The charges were a result of a lengthy investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the DHHS Program Integrity Unit.
Oste was issued appearance tickets for Jamestown City Court. Instances of suspected welfare fraud can be reported by calling 1-800-388-5365 or We-Tip at 1-800-782-7463.
RIPLEY – Roy R. Yokom, 38, of Northeast, Pa., was charges Monday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on West Main Street.
Yokom was stopped around 8:45 p.m. for allegedly going 72 in a 55 mph zone and was found to be intoxicated. A check of his license found it had been suspended. Yokom was also allegedly found in possession of marijuana. He was issued appearance tickets for Ripley Town Court.
FREWSBURG – Todd M. Boardman, 27, of Frewsburg, was charged March 20 with petit larceny after deputies responded to a shoplifting call at a dollar store.
An investigation found Boardman had taken several items from the store without paying for them. The items were later returned to the store. Boardman was issued a ticket for Carroll Town Court.

CASSADAGA – Dakota Gibbon, 26, of Cassadaga was charged with violating parole on March 18. A parole warrant was issued for Gibbon when he allegedly violated his parole due to failing a drug test. He was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.
Patience Seabolt, 22, of Dunkirk was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and no seatbelt on March 20. Troopers stopped a vehicle on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk for operator allegedly not wearing a seatbelt.
While interviewing the operator, Seabolt, a strong odor of marijuana was allegedly detected emanating from the inside of the vehicle. Over 5 grams of marijuana was reportedly located in the vehicle. Seabolt was issued tickets for Dunkirk Town Court.

Micah J. Brooks, 30, of Perrysburg was charged on an arrest warrant on March 17. Brooks had been previously arrested and was on probation through Cattaraugus County. Brooks allegedly violated his probation and was turned over to police. Brooks was sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail.
Ray W. Silverheels, 28, of Lawtons was charged on an arrest warrant on March 17. Silverheels had been previously arrested by police and when he failed to appear in Persia Town Court, a warrant was issued.
Silverheels was located by patrol and then arraigned in Persia Town Court.
Silverheels was sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
James R. Korbar, 52, of Broadway Road was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal mischief on March 18.
Police responded to the report of an alleged domestic incident at a Palmer Street residence where Korbar had allegedly been involved in a verbal confrontation.
Korbar allegedly threatened a female victim, grabbed the victim and pushed her forcibly into a wall causing injury.
Korbar was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Tiffannie N. Corbin, 23, of Perry Street was charged with third-degree forgery and third-degree possession of a forged instrument on March 18.
Corbin allegedly had made out a check then signed the check owner’s name without his knowledge or permission.
Corbin was taken into custody on an arrest warrant once released from the Chautauqua County Jail on an unrelated matter. She was arraigned in Persia Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
Corbin was then charged with a second arrest warrant of fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal impersonation and criminal possession of stolen property.
Corbin allegedly stole a credit card and charged numerous items. She was arraigned in Collins Town Court and sent to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Jordan A. Lundell, 20, of Brant was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and obstructed vision on March 19. Lundell was stopped for allegedly having an obstructed view of the windshield on Buffalo Street. During the traffic stop, Lundell was found in alleged possession of 1.23 ounces of marijuana. She was released to appear in Collins Town Court.

from Ripley library
OBSERVER Staff Report
RIPLEY – The Ripley Free Library was subject to a burglary over the weekend. According to library officials, an unknown person or persons broke into the library, 64 W. Main St., Friday evening.
Several hundred dollars was stolen from a locked desk and entry was allegedly made through a window at the back of the library. Nothing else was reported as stolen and only a few small items were damaged. The money was from a recent community Soup & Sandwich Day, Embu the Elephant fund and petty cash. Library Director Rhonda Thompson expressed her anger and sadness at the event in a written statement.
“I’m sad for the people of the town. Everyone works so hard for the community and all the good we do got knocked down by a few,” she said. “We’ll pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off. We would like to call on the community to not allow the perpetrators to destroy the community spirit we’ve worked so hard to build.
“My faith in people was shaken, but I know we have good people here in Ripley and we’ll pull together. We want the perpetrator to know that the damage done was not only financial, but also psychological. We’ve all been hurt by this, not just the library,” Thompson concluded.

National Work Zone Awareness Week begins
The New York State Thruway Authority, New York State Department of Transportation and New York State Police Troop T kicked off 2015 National Work Zone Awareness Week by reminding motorists to use extreme caution when driving through work zones to ensure the utmost safety of both motorists and construction workers on the highways across New York State.
This year’s theme, “Expect the Unexpected,” focuses specific attention on work zone safety and work zone workers. The 2015 National Work Zone Awareness Week began on Monday and concludes Friday.
The New York State Thruway reported 117 work zone related accidents in 2014, a slight decrease from 130 in 2013.
In 2014, there were 432 crashes in NYSDOT capital construction work zones, resulting in five motorist fatalities and 104 injuries to motorists, contractor employees and NYSDOT staff. There were five NYSDOT workers injured in 40 crashes that occurred in maintenance zones.
The National Work Zone Awareness Week campaign – which begins at the start of the highway construction season – aims to prevent work zone fatalities by encouraging safe driving through highway work zones and construction sites.

SHERMAN – Justin B. Whitehead, 25, of Sherman was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and having an inadequate exhaust on Friday. Deputies stopped Whitehead’s vehicle on Main Street for allegedly having an inadequate exhaust just before 8 p.m. Whitehead was found to allegedly have several bags of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the vehicle. Whitehead was released to appear in Sherman Village Court.

Police put brakes on car thefts by Pennsylvania man
JAMESTOWN – A Pennsylvania man who allegedly took two cars in the south-county area was given a ride to jail by law-enforcement officials Saturday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies said Daniel S. Craker, 48, of Bear Lake, Pa., is facing charges of two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree grand larceny of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property. Craker was picked up between 2 and 3 a.m. Saturday on North Main Street in the city of Jamestown after he was found in a vehicle that was stolen from a home on Frissell Road.
Deputies said he entered the home early Saturday morning and found the keys to the vehicle on the counter. He then took the 2011 Honda Element from the garage.
Once in custody, it was determined during the investigation that Craker had also stolen a vehicle from a residence on Weeks Road in Clymer. He gave a voluntary statement indicating he located the pickup in a driveway with the keys in ignition. He drove the truck until it ran out of gas.
Craker left the vehicle on Frissell Road and walked until he found the unlocked residence on Frissell Road.
He was arraigned in Kiantone Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail. Officials again reminded residents to lock their doors and remove keys from their vehicles even if they are parked in a garage.
Warrants lead to meth bust
RANDOLPH – Two individuals were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine following a warrant check Friday.
New York State Police were serving arrest warrants for Juan A. DeJesus and Rachael Maynard, no ages given, both of 210 Spring St. Both individuals were wanted for second-degree criminal possession of marijuana stemming from a Feb. 2 incident where 4 pounds of marijuana were found at the residence.
While serving the warrants, police allegedly observed marijuana in plain view at the residence. Further investigation found one pound of marijuana and chemical agents and equipment to produce methamphetamine. NYSP Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team secured the chemical agents.
DeJesus and Maynard were both charged with third-degree criminal manufacturing methamphetamine, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child. The individuals were arraigned in Randolph Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each.

Scott K. Wise, 53, of Cassadaga was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while using a cell phone on Thursday. Wise was stopped on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret shortly after 7 p.m., for allegedly using a cell phone while driving. Wise’s license was found to be allegedly revoked for a prior driving while intoxicated arrest. Wise was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.

HANOVER – Luz N. Santiago Torres, 34, of Dunkirk was charged on March 20 with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child after an alleged incident at Dollar General. Santiago Torres was reportedly caught shoplifting by the store manager and was alleged to be committing the crime in the presence of her 12-year-old child. Santiago Torres was issued appearance tickets and is to return to Hanover Town Court at a later date.
JAMESTOWN – Whitney T. Lindblad, 27, of Jamestown was charged on March 20 with fifth-degree welfare fraud, petit larceny and fraudulent receipt of benefits from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31 after Deputies served her appearance tickets for the above charges.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, Lindblad received family assistance benefits from the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services. It is alleged that Lindblad was interviewed by a DHHS worker on Aug. 26 concerning eligibility for benefits and Lindblad reported to that worker that she had no income.
Through an investigation conducted by the DHHS Program Integrity Unit and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, it was discovered that Lindblad actually began receiving a form of income on Aug. 22. Lindblad reportedly received $950 in benefits that she wouldn’t have been entitled to if she had disclosed the income. Lindblad will answer the charges in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – Brandon R. Thomas, 24, of Buffalo was charged on March 19 with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and no distinctive plate after Deputies on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
It was allegedly discovered that Thomas’ New York driving privileges were suspended. Further investigation found that a passenger, Eliashuwon T. Lyles, 25, of Buffalo was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. While speaking to other passengers in the vehicle, it was also discovered that passenger Wendy E. Lawrence, 50, of Buffalo had an active felony arrest warrant for grand larceny.
Thomas was released with citations charging him with the above violations. Lyles was released with an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana while Lawrence was turned over to Olean Police on the warrant.

Mayville man uses pizza cutter to chase individual
MAYVILLE – A Mayville man was charged Wednesday after allegedly threatening an individual with a pizza cutter on Morris Street.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded a complaint of a disorderly individual around 4 p.m. Investigation found Joshua L. Reynolds, 20, intentionally broke a cell phone and chased an individual with the kitchen utensil.
Deputies obtained an arrest warrant and later took Reynolds into custody on the charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree menacing.
He was arraigned in Mayville Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

RIPLEY – Timothy A. Conklin, 61, of Ripley, was charged Thursday with fourth-degree criminal mischief after he allegedly damaged a neighbor’s property. Deputies investigated the complaint around 3 p.m. and found Conklin allegedly removed his neighbor’s property stakes, damaging some. He was issued a ticket to appear in Ripley Town Court at a later date.

FREWSBURG – Na-then Conrad, 22, of Frews-burg was charged on March 14 with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a person under 21 years old after State Police conducted an underage-drinking initiative in Chautauqua County, checking 14 area convenience and liquor stores and utilizing an underage agent.
The detail resulted in the arrest of Conrad, an employee of Frewsburg Wine and Spirits at 22 W. Main St. Conrad reportedly sold a bottle of vodka to a 17-year-old female.
NORTH HARMONY – Andrew R. Stinley, 23, of Erie, Pa., was charged Tuesday with driving while ability impaired drugs after a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt on I-86.
While interviewing Stinley, an odor of marijuana was reportedly detected, and after field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest for DWAI drugs. Stinley was transported to the Jamestown barracks for evaluation by a drug recognition expert and was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Stinley was released on $300 bail and is due back in North Harmony Town Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK – Jeremy J. Morris, 37, of Corry, Pa., was charged Wednesday with operating a motor vehicle while registration revoked, operating motor vehicle without insurance, unlicensed operation, no seatbelt, possession or consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and inadequate tail lamps after Sheriff’s Deputies on patrol observed a motorist operating without wearing a seatbelt on Andrus Street.
Upon stopping the vehicle, it was reportedly discovered that Morris was operating with a suspended Pennsyl-vania license and the vehicle was uninsured with a revoked registration. Further investigation found that Morris was in possession of open containers of alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Deputies also allegedly found that Morris had active arrest warrants out of Erie County, Pa. Morris was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court on the new charges and as a fugitive of justice on the warrants before being sent to Chautauqua County Jail.

Name released in Route 5 crash
Police have released the name of the driver involved in a Monday night crash.
According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Office, David W. Narraway, 36, of Dunkirk lost control on Route 5 in the town of Dunkirk and left the south side of the road and struck a tree.
Narraway was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
Man slumped over steering wheel leads to charges
A Westfield man is facing charges after police allegedly found him slumped over his steering wheel Monday.
New York State Police responded to the report of a male slumped over the steering wheel while in the driving lane of Spoden Road at the intersection of Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. After waking up the driver, Jeffery Barr, 60, and ruling out a medical emergency, Barr was found to be allegedly intoxicated.
Barr was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical breath test and parking on a highway. He was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash or $4,000 property bail.

Lynette A. Pierce, 32, of Jamestown Street was charged with second-degree harassment and child endangerment on March 4. Pierce allegedly became physically confrontational and attacked a male victim at a Jamestown Street residence. She allegedly scratched the victim, causing facial injuries in the presence of a 2-year-old child. Pierce was arraigned in Persia Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
Patrick M. Ketterer, 32, of Perrysburg was charged with having expired inspection, switched plates, suspended registration, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating an uninsured vehicle on March 7.
Ketterer was stopped for having an alleged expired inspection on West Main Street.
A DMV computer check revealed the license plates were allegedly registered to another vehicle and had been suspended in July 2014.
The vehicle allegedly did not have insurance or properly registered.
He was released to appear in Persia Town Court.
Andrew J. Greinert, 24, of North Water Street was charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree criminal mischief on March 10.
Police were notified of a burglary at a West Main Street business where a cash register containing a small amount of cash was reportedly stolen on March 8.
Greinert was found to be allegedly responsible for this crime and the stolen property was found in his possession.
Greinert was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Brian McAllister, 49, of Chestnut Street was charged with two counts of second-degree harassment on March 12.
Police responded to a disturbance at a Chestnut Street address where McAllister had allegedly became confrontational with a male resident. McAllister allegedly struck the victim with a closed fist, knocked him to the ground and then punched and kicked him numerous times. A female attempted to assist the male and McAllister allegedly struck the female in the face.
McAllister was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.

KENNEDY – Terence E. Sweeney, 26, of Kennedy was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment on Monday.
Troopers responded to Sweeney’s residence for an alleged domestic dispute. Sweeney was arraigned in Carroll Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

Carol Anne Muniz, 51, last known address being Lincoln Avenue, was charged with petit larceny on Thursday.
Bertram Cambridge Jr., 48, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree harassment on Saturday.
Angel Cruz-Ocasio, 20, of East Second Street and Mariarsenia Vega, 21, of King Street were charged with second-degree criminal trespass on Saturday.

Devon Wilson, 21, of Lord Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.

Dennis Wallace, 37, of Van Buren Road, Dunkirk, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident after a two-vehicle, right-angle accident at the intersection of Matteson and Chestnut streets on the night of March 6.
Alec Brown, 23, of Eagle Street was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent, DWI and speed in zone on March 7.
Sean Korzenski, 21, of East Main Road, Dunkirk, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, failure to stop at a stop sign and speed in zone on Sunday.

Tarbell, 49, of Sinclairville was charged on March 7 with third-degree menacing and aggravated driving while intoxicated – blood alcohol content of .18 or more after troopers had responded to a report of domestic violence involving Tarbell, who had driven away from the scene. Tarbell was reportedly located driving on Charlotte Center Road after being pulled over for no left side-view mirror. A strong odor of alcohol was allegedly noticed and after field sobriety tests Tarbell was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .23 was obtained. Tarbell was arraigned in the Charlotte Town Court.

JAMESTOWN – Erik Nollinger, 36, of Wisnor Street was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell on Saturday. The charges stem from a violation of probation warrant and Nollinger was taken into custody following a warrant check by deputies at a Wisnor Street residence at 8:20 p.m. Nollinger was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail and will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
JAMESTOWN – Paul A. Gregory, 55, of Front Street was charged with a violation of probation on Sunday. Deputies performed a warrant check on Front Street at 8 a.m. Gregory was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

SHERIDAN – Brandi Clabeaux, 22, of Gowanda was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated-first offense, driving while ability impaired by alcohol and speeding after Troopers stopped a vehicle on Route 20.
Clabeaux was arrested for DWI after she reportedly failed field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Dunkirk barracks where a .07 percent blood alcohol content was allegedly obtained. Brandi was transported to the Fredonia barracks to complete her processing. She is due back in Sheridan Town Court on April 9.
ELLICOTT – Peter Harris, 19, of Salamanca was charged Saturday with muffler exhaust system violation, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate and unlawful possession of marijuana after State Police stopped a vehicle Route 60 for inadequate exhaust. The vehicle operator, Harris, 19, and his passenger, Bradley Cunningham, 18, of Limestone were both reportedly found to be in possession of marijuana.
Cunningham was also issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana. Harris and Cunningham are due back in Ellicott Town Court Wednesday.
Nicholas Williams, 36, of Dunkirk was charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana after troopers stopped a vehicle on Farel Road, in the town of Pomfret, for inadequate plate lamps.
While interviewing the operator, Williams, an odor of marijuana reportedly was emanating from inside the vehicle. According to troopers, located in the vehicle were 2 grams of fresh marijuana and a glass smoking pipe with burnt marijuana residue. Williams allegedly claimed sole possession of the items.
Williams is due back in Pomfret Town Court on March 24.
Ivan Echevarria, 56, of Dunkirk was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated-first offense, operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood-first offense, driving to the left of pavement markings and inadequate plate lamp after State Police allegedly stopped a vehicle for crossing the yellow solid line twice and no lighted plate lamp on Route 20 in the village of Fredonia.
The operator, Echevarria, was reportedly found to be intoxicated after field sobriety tests and was transported to the Dunkirk barracks where a blood alcohol content of .14 percent was obtained. Echevarria was then transported to the Fredonia barracks for the completion of his processing.
Echevarria is due back in Fredonia Village Court on April 8.

RIPLEY – Mark Hagen, 61, of Westfield was charged with failure to yield the right of way while entering a roadway after a personal injury accident on West Main Street Saturday.
Deputies responded to the accident around 10:25 a.m. and determined on-scene that Hagen allegedly failed to yield the right of way to Nancy Hagedorn, 57, of Westfield. As a result, Hagen’s vehicle was reportedly struck by Hagedorn’s, causing damage to both vehicles.
Hagedorn was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment and released later that day.
SILVER CREEK – David Payne, 53, of Stradford, Connecticut, was charged with second-degree harassment, second-degree criminal trespass and endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday.
Around 9:10 p.m., deputies were called to 20 Oak St. for a report of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly split up the two parties involved.
After an investigation, it was found that Payne allegedly slapped and slammed the head of a female victim in front of a child.
He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
SILVER CREEK – Arthur Beebe, 62, of Oakland Street, Angola, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and move from lane unsafely on Saturday.
Around 5:10 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle allegedly travel into the opposite lane around the intersection of Buffalo and Howard streets. After stopping the vehicle, deputies determined the driver, Beebe, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
He was issued traffic tickets and will appear in Silver Creek Village Court.
HANOVER – Malcom M. East, 21, of Silver Creek, was charged Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana after deputies were flagged down with the vehicle in the driving lane at the intersection of Dennison and Stebbins roads with its flashers on around 6:45 p.m. Investigation found East was allegedly in possession of marijuana and he was issued a ticket to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.
HANOVER – Timothy M. Waz, 51, of Angola, was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated common law, DWI per se, speeding, unlicensed operator and open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 for speeding around 7:30 p.m. Investigation found Waz was reportedly intoxicated and he was issued tickets to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

COLDSPRING – Ryan S. Fisher, 31, of Falconer, was taken into custody by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Friday around 2:45 p.m. on an outstanding warrant from the Coldspring Town Court for fourth-degree larceny. Fisher was handed over to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and was arraigned in Cattaraugus County Court. He was held on $1,000 bail and will appear in Coldspring Town Court at a later date.

Two picked up in ongoing narcotics investigation
ELLICOTT – An ongoing investigation into the sales and trafficking of narcotic drugs between Youngstown, Ohio, and Jamestown resulted in two being charged with drug and weapons possession early Friday.
Investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a vehicle that was stopped on Interstate 86 at 12:30 a.m. The vehicle was stopped by Ellicott Police and New York State Police.
Occupants of the vehicle were identified as John C. Tufino, 22, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Luis M. Moreno, 25, of Jamestown. A search of the vehicle found a loaded pistol and a quantity of cash, cocaine and marijuana.
Both were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Tufino was additionally charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Moreno was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Tufino and Moreno were sent to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.

HANOVER – Philip N. Tirone, 35, of Silver Creek was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree harassment on March 1.
Deputies allege Tirone subjected a victim to forced sexual contact without the victim’s consent. The contact allegedly happened while Tirone was giving the victim a ride in his vehicle.
A warrant was issued for Tirone’s arrest and he was arraigned in Hanover Town Court. Tirone was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 property bail.

Evans man, Buffalo man charged with selling heroin in fatal case
BUFFALO – A man from Evans as well as a man from Buffalo have been charged with selling heroin following an investigation of a heroin overdose in Hamburg.
U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Wednesday that John Haak, 33, of Evans, and Francis Tessina, 43, of Buffalo, were arrested and charged by criminal complaint with distribution of heroin and conspiracy to distribute heroin. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel, who is handling the case, stated that according to the complaint, on Feb. 28, law enforcement officers investigated the apparent heroin overdose of a man in Hamburg. During the investigation, officers discovered a cellular telephone that belonged to the deceased individual. Text messages exchanged between the man and defendant Haak revealed that the man had received heroin from Haak shortly before his body was discovered.
Further investigation revealed that Haak delivered bags of heroin, purchased from defendant Tessina, to the deceased man late in the afternoon of Feb. 28. The defendant also sent text messages to the man warning him to be careful with the heroin because Haak believed it contained fentanyl. The complaint also charges Tessina alone of selling heroin on March 9.
The defendants made an initial appearance this morning before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy. Defendant Haak was released on conditions and is due back in court on March 20 at 11:30 a.m. Defendant Tessina is being held pending a detention hearing on March 16 at 11:30 a.m.
The criminal complaint is the culmination of an investigation on the part of the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division, the Hamburg Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Williams, and the Evan Police Department, under the direction of Chief Ernest Masullo.
Pair charged in welfare fraud investigation
MAYVILLE – A pair of individuals from Celoron have been charged following an investigation into an alleged welfare fraud incident. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Serena Abers, 39, and Thomas J. Meredith, 46, of East Lake Street were charged Monday.
Abers was charged with misuse of food stamps, a class D felony, third-degree grand larceny and four counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. Meredith was charged with two counts of second-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit and the sheriff’s office. It is alleged Abers and Meredith filed multiple applications and recertifications with the Department of Social Services claiming a dependent was living with them. The investigation found the dependent allegedly did not live in the household. Abers received $7,000 in food stamp and Medicaid benefits that she was not entitled to.
Abers and Meredith were released to appear in Jamestown City Court. Instances of suspected welfare fraud can be reported to the welfare fraud hotline at 1-800-388-5365 or the We Tip hotline at 1-800-782-7463.

Clarence M. Kennedy, 18, of Lawton was charged on March 4 with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disorderly person complaint at LoGuidice BOCES. After further investigation, it was reportedly discovered that Kennedy was acting suspicious by placing both his hands in the pockets of his jeans during a search in a counselor’s office.
While in a public place, Kennedy allegedly became vulgar and non-cooperative. A deputy reportedly advised Kennedy to turn around so he could be checked for possible weapons. According to Sheriff’s deputies, while attempting to gain control, Kennedy turned away and became aggressive toward the deputy. Kennedy was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Kennedy was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $250 cash and $500 property bail.

Justin Matthiews, 29, of Forestville was charged on March 6 with driving while intoxicated – first offense, speeding, no plate lamp and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood – first offense after troopers reportedly stopped a vehicle on South Roberts Road in the town of Dunkirk for speeding and having no plate lamps. The driver, Matthiews, allegedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.
Matthiews was transported to the Dunkirk barracks where a blood alcohol content result of .09 percent was obtained. He was then processed at the Fredonia barracks and issued traffic tickets for the above charges, returnable to Dunkirk Town Court on April 6.
William C. Kramer II, 53, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged on March 8 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no plate lamp after a vehicle and traffic stop on Route 60 in Fredonia. Kramer was reportedly stopped for no plate lamp. He was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 bond. He is to return to Pomfret Town Court on March 24.

Kopta, 46, of Sherman was charged on March 5 with driving while intoxicated, speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he was pulled over on I-86 for speeding. While interviewing Kopta, an odor of alcohol reportedly was detected and after field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .15 was obtained. Kopta was issued tickets for the above charges, returnable to North Harmony Town Court.

Deputies stopped a vehicle on Dunham Road just after 10 p.m., for allegedly not having a turn signal.
The driver, Semonovich, was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop.
He was released to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.
Jorge L. Colon-Vargas, 40, of Dunkirk was charged with failure to use designated lane, moving from lane unsafely, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI on Sunday shortly before 3:30 a.m.
Deputies stopped Colon-Vargas’ vehicle on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret for allegedly failing to use designated lane and moving from lane unsafely.
Colon-Vargas was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. Colon-Vargas was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.

FORESTVILLE – Jesse Borrello, 18, of Pearl Street, Forestville, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child Friday.
The charges stem from a Feb. 19 incident in which deputies were dispatched to the Pearl Street area for a snowmobile complaint. An investigation revealed Borrello had allegedly been smoking marijuana with three male youths.
He was issued tickets for Hanover Town Court.
KIANTONE – Jonathan Bellardo, 25, of North Pearl Street, Frewsburg, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and speed in zone on Sunday.
Around 1:50 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding on Route 60. The operator of the vehicle, Bellardo, was allegedly intoxicated.
He was released with tickets for Kiantone Town Court.

The snowmobile was stopped and Zaprowski reportedly failed field sobriety tests. After providing a breath sample, it was determined his blood alcohol content was allegedly .13 percent.

Just after 1 p.m., deputies stopped Quiter’s vehicle for allegedly having an inadequate exhaust on Central Avenue. Quiter was found to be in alleged possession of marijuana during the stop. She was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

Marrisa Figueroa, 34, of Central Avenue was charged with driving while intoxicated, pre-screen refusal, suspended registration and no turn signal on March 1.

Conor Condon, 21, of Central Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct on Feb. 28.
Brandyn Lambe, 24, of East Main Street was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a governmental administration on Feb. 28.
One person was injured after a two-vehicle, right-turn accident at the intersection of Eagle Street and East Main Street on March 1.
According to an accident report, around 5:30 p.m., Eric Gronquist, 20, of West Main Street was traveling east on East Main Street and attempted to turn south onto Eagle Street. Gronquist’s vehicle reportedly slid into a vehicle driven by John Karlstrom, 47, of Eagle Street, which was stopped at a red light on Eagle Street.
Police say snow and ice contributed to the accident. Karlstrom was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital by Alstar Ambulance for minor injuries.

SILVER CREEK – Brian K. Gallaway, 42, of Irving was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Wednesday. Deputies responded to a Howard Street residence around 4:45 p.m., for a reported dispute. Gallaway was found to be allegedly involved in the altercation and allegedly damaged personal property. Gallaway was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

Bus crashes on icy road
Three students and a driver were not injured following an accident involving a school bus Thursday afternoon.
According to the New York State Police at Fredonia, the two vehicle accident occurred inside McClenathan’s mobile home park around 2:30 p.m. According to police a Carrier Coach bus driven by Calvin Kregor, 58, of Fredonia slid into an unoccupied parked vehicle due to icy conditions.
Fredonia Fire and EMS responded and evaluated the students and Kregor. No one was injured in the crash. Damage to both vehicles was minor and neither vehicle was towed from the scene. There were no charges filed.
Erie man charged after West Ellicott cocaine bust
ELLICOTT – Investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 620 Fairmount Ave., room 137, where an investigation revealed the occupant was selling powder cocaine Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators made entry and located a quantity of powder cocaine, marijuana and $2,400 in cash. Police took Michael D. Gunn, 31, of Erie, Pennsylvania, into custody, charging him with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Gunn had an outstanding felony warrant out of Pennsylvania for burglary, police said.
The Ellicott Police Department additionally charged Gunn as a fugitive from justice. Police transported Gunn to Jamestown City Jail for arraignment.
The Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force consists of members from the Jamestown Police Department and Ellicott Police Department with assistance from the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.

SILVER CREEK – Michael R. Shanahan, 60, of Rix Place was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sunday. Deputies were called to a Rix Place residence to check the wellbeing of an individual shortly before 9 p.m. Deputies found that the individuals at the residence were fine but Shanahan was found to be in alleged possession of marijuana. Shanahan was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

JAMESTOWN – Lloyd D. Delahoy, 56, of Jamestown, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated and inadequate headlights after a traffic stop on Second Street around 9:45 p.m. Troopers allegedly detected the odor of alcohol and after field sobriety tests, took Delahoy into custody. He was transported to the Jamestown barracks, where a blood alcohol content of .15 percent was obtained. He was issued tickets and will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN – Gen-evieve P. McIntosh-Post, 39, of Prendergast Avenue as charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny and fraudulent receipt of benefits on Friday. These charges stem from an investigation by sheriff deputies and the Department of Social Services alleging McIntosh-Post failed to report her husband was employed and had income in February and March 2012. This led to the receipt of $1,664 in unentitled benefits. McIntosh-Post was released to appear in Jamestown City Court. Daniel S. Lukasik Jr., 23, of Lake Shore Drive was charged with driving while intoxicated impaired by drugs and parked on pavement on Friday. At 11 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway on Brigham Road in the town of Dunkirk. Lukasik and a passenger were observed changing positions in the vehicle. Lukasik was found to be allegedly impaired by drugs. Lukasik was released to appear in Dunkirk Town Court.

Robert Kulig, 26, of Dunkirk, was charged Saturday with improper left turn, failure to yield the right of way, driving while intoxicated first offense and first-degree operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood after troopers stopped a vehicle on Swamp Road in the town of Pomfret, for an improper left turn and failure to yield the right of way. The operator, Kulig, reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.
Kulig was allegedly transported to the Dunkirk barracks for the Alcotest with a result of .13 percent blood alcohol content. Kulig was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing.
All tickets are returnable to the Pomfret Town Court on March 17.
Sean Korzenski, 21, of Dunkirk, was charged Sunday with second-degree harassment and felony third-degree criminal mischief as a result of an investigation that reportedly revealed earlier that date Korzenski had punched a victim in the face three times, breaking the victim’s glasses, valued at approximately $300.
Korzenski was processed at the Fredonia barracks and arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court. Korzenski is to appear in Sheridan Town Court on March 12.
James Schroeder Jr., 47, of Brocton, was charged Friday with speeding, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, using a vehicle without an interlock device, refusal to take a breath test and felony driving while intoxicated after Fredonia State Police responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Ellicott Road in the Town of Pomfret. The operator, Schroeder Jr., reportedly had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. An open can of beer was allegedly in the cup holder. It was observed by troopers that Schroeder needed assistance exiting the vehicle, had slurred speech, droopy eyelids and difficulty standing on the flat pavement. According to troopers, Schroeder Jr. refused to perform standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.
Schroeder Jr. was reportedly transported to the Dunkirk barracks where he refused to provide a breath sample. A check of Schroeder Jr.’s criminal history revealed two DWI convictions within the previous 10 years, and his driving record reportedly revealed a revocation for a DWI conviction.
Schroeder Jr. was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing. He was arraigned in the Pomfret Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail/$4,000 bond. Schroeder Jr. is due back in Pomfret Town Court on March 10.

JAMESTOWN – Ana E. Morales, 31, of Jamestown, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated and moving from lane unsafely after she was reportedly pulled over on Victoria Avenue around 1:45 a.m. for a traffic infraction. Field sobriety tests were administered and Morales was allegedly placed under arrest for DWI. She was transported to the Jamestown barracks where a blood alcohol content of .18 was obtained.
JAMESTOWN – Michelle G. Loiacono, 37, of Jamestown, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated and no plate lamp after a traffic stop on 4th Street around 3:10 a.m. for a traffic infraction. Loiacono was reportedly placed under arrest after field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .16 was obtained.
ELLICOTT – Timothy L. Warner, 59, of Jamestown, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, inadequate brake lights and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 394 for no driver’s side brake light. Warner was reportedly placed under arrest for DWI and was found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana. He was processed at the Jamestown barracks where a blood alcohol content of .12 was obtained.

Clayton Smith, 38, of Latham was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and unsafe backing on Sunday.
At 2:55 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret for an alleged traffic violation. The operator, Smith, was allegedly operating his vehicle while intoxicated. He was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.

Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force
GOWANDA – James R. Faulkner, 39, of Rochester was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Faulkner was stopped by members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and Gowanda Police Department when he was in a vehicle on Commercial Street and was known to have an active arrest warrant. Faulkner was found to be in alleged possession of crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl. Faulkner was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

RANDOLPH – Laverne F. Brown Jr., 36, of Jamestown, was charged on Feb. 25 with driving while intoxicated and parking on the highway after Troopers allegedly spotted his vehicle pulled over on I-86 and stopped to see if he was alright. Troopers reportedly noticed a strong odor of alcohol, and after field sobriety tests, Brown was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .14 was obtained. Brown was issued tickets for the above charges and is to return to Randolph Town Court at a later date.
