Matthew Greenough, 26, of King Road, Forestville, was charged with following too closely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident after a two-vehicle, rear-end accident at the intersection of 1 Cliffstar Drive and South Main Street on June 17 around 9 p.m.

Robin Diers, 34, of West Fourth Street was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident after a two-vehicle, sideswipe accident involving a tractor on Lake Shore Drive East near Ermine Street on June 17 around 11:30 a.m.

Mark Mekus, 36, of Townsend Street was charged with petit larceny on June 21.

Pedro Negron-Guzman, 48, of East Second Street was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault on June 22.

Stephen Partyka, 31, of Maple Avenue was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on June 23.

Maria Sams, 21, of Temple Street, Fredonia, and Erica Roberto, 29, of Central Avenue were charged with petit larceny on June 24.

Devon Wilson, 21, of Main Street was charged with second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct on June 25.

Lester Devaughn, 48, of Front Street was charged with third-degree robbery on June 25.

Arthur Isles, 20, of Deer Street was charged with disorderly conduct on June 26.

Maritza Reyes, 48, of North Gazelle Street was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content over .18 percent on June 26.

David Balliel, 65, of Main Street was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing on June 26.

Marcelino Hernandez-Lopez, 29, of Antelope Street was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree harassment on Saturday.

Latrece Stewart, 25, of Maple Avenue was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and harassment on Sunday.

Samuel Hernandez, 34, of Genet Street, Dunkirk, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass on June 17.

Daniel Waite II, 34, of Lincoln Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with second-degree forged instrument and petit larceny on June 17.

Seana Williams, 32, of Lincoln Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on June 18.

Susan Lilly, 41, of Route 20 was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to comply on June 19.

Tito Acevedo, 34, of South Roberts Road, Dunkirk, was charged with second-degree harassment on June 19.

A 17-year-old youth of Leon was charged with petit larceny on June 20.

Christopher Richmond, 21, of Center Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to obey a traffic control device, failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles, operating out of class, no motorcycle goggles, no helmet and disorderly conduct on June 21.

Tammy Behm, 33, of Water Street was charged with petit larceny on June 21.

Amy Pinkoski, 32, of North Beagle Street, Dunkirk, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument on June 23.

Patricia Ball, 66, of Temple Street was charged with failure to use designated lane after a two-vehicle, sideswipe accident at the intersection of Church and Temple streets on June 23 around 7:50 a.m.

Ashley Guest, 21, of Westfield was charged with petit larceny on June 25.

State Police in Jamestown

GERRY – Jeremy A. Barmore, 29, of Gerry was charged on June 28 with third-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment after he allegedly detained, threatened to shoot and took $40 from two males aged 17 and 18 who were sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot at a business on Route 60 at 1:10 a.m. According to police documents, no firearm was actually used or displayed during the incident. Barmore was arraigned in Ellery Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail with no bail and is due back in the Gerry Town Court at a later date.

Eric Woolschlager, 31, of Ellery was charged on June 28 with 16 counts of third-degree possession of a forged instrument, third-degree grand larceny and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance while Ashley Johnson, 26, of Ellery was charged with three counts of second-degree forgery after an investigation into a report from a local business of sixteen checks that were stolen, forged and cashed at two other area business, totaling over $5,000. Upon arrest, Woolschlager was also reportedly found to be in possession of heroin. Both were arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail with no bail.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

HANOVER – Ronald R. Evans, 41, of Lockport was charged with disorderly conduct on June 23. Deputies responded to a person allegedly walking down the middle of Alleghany Road at 11:55 p.m., with no shirt or shoes and obstructing traffic. Evans was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.

HANOVER – Christo-pher C. Simpson, 39, of Gowanda was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of an alcoholic container in a motor vehicle and speeding on Saturday. Simpson was found to be allegedly traveling east on Route 39 at a high rate of speed just before 8:30 p.m. He was also found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

CHAUTAUQUA – Joshua M. Maxey, 22, of Rochester was charged with driving while intoxicated and moving from lane unsafely on Sunday. Deputies stopped Maxey’s vehicle on Route 394 just after 12 a.m., for an alleged traffic violation. Maxey was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

Dylan K. Sugden, 20, of Fredonia was charged with second-degree harassment on Sunday. Deputies were dispatched to the report of a physical altercation at 9:50 p.m., on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. Sugden allegedly got into a verbal argument with another person, then a physical altercation took place. Sugden was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

Gowanda Police

Donald R. Clark, 49, Connie A. Tessmer, 52, and Benjamin Brant, 35, all of Jamestown Street were charged with disorderly conduct on June 21. Police had previously responded to numerous reports of neighbor disputes between 141 Jamestown St., and 143 Jamestown St. Police had learned Tessmer and Clark allegedly were involved in a physical altercation with Brant outside of 143 Jamestown St., around 6:15 p.m. All three individuals were released to appear in Persia Town Court.

Daniel C. Powley, 42, of Eden was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unsafe start on June 24. Police observed Powley’s vehicle allegedly doing a burn out on East Main Street at 11:11 p.m. Powley’s license was found to be allegedly suspended on June 15 for failure to appear in court. Powley was released to appear in Collins Town Court.

Stephanie K. Bulman, 25, of Collins was charged with issuing a bad check and petit larceny on Friday. Bulman allegedly cashed two personal checks totaling $415 at Shop and Save in October and did not allegedly have the funds in her account to cover the checks. The business tried to contact Bulman numerous times and a formal complaint was submitted to police. Bulman was taken into custody by the Erie County Sheriff’s Department on an arrest warrant and turned over to Gowanda Police. Bulman was arraigned in Collins Town Court and released on $1,500 bail.

Michael R. Guadagno, 53, of Taylor Hollow Road was charged with illegally driving in the center lane, driving without headlights, aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation on Saturday. Police observed Guadagno’s vehicle allegedly driving down the center lane on Buffalo Street without headlights just before 10:30 p.m. Guadagno was found to be allegedly intoxicated and his licensed had been revoked and suspended previously. He was also found to have a .19 percent blood alcohol percent level. Guadagno was released to appear in Collins Town Court.

Elma man dies in North Harmony accident

OBSERVER Staff Report

NORTH HARMONY – A 23-year-old Elma man suffered fatal injuries after police say the vehicle he was traveling in collided with a series of trees on Butts Road in the town of North Harmony Saturday night.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to an accident involving a single motor vehicle that resulted in the fatality. The alleged operator, Patrick Grimm, 24, of Ashville, was apparently traveling north on Butts Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway and collided with the trees.

Grimm’s passenger, Darrin Power, reportedly died at the scene. Grimm was transported to WCA Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing and police say charges are pending.

The Ashville and Lakewood volunteer fire departments also responded to the scene.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

CLYMER – Marion I Miller, 20, of Millersburg, Ohio was charged on Friday with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and underage possession of alcohol while Roxanna L. Earle, 40, of Clymer was charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child and second-degree criminal nuissance after Sheriff’s Deputies were called to investigate a large underage party at 8390 Raspas Hill Road. Upon arrival, deputies allegedly encountered several hundred subjects with multiple subjects being found to be consuming alcohol under the age of 21. Several youths were charged with possession of alcohol under 21, including Miller who attempted to flee on foot and was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrestt.

Miller was arraigned in Sherman Town Court and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,200 cash and $2,400 property.

Deputies identified the property owner to be Earle, who was issued appearance tickets and is due in Clymer Town Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE – Caren L Eddy, 36, of Jamestown was charged on Friday with fourth-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, fourth degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps, all felonies, after a joint investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit.

It is alleged that Eddy filed a false application with DHHS, which failed to report employment income. As a result, between Sept. 2, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2014, Eddy received $2,253 in food stamp benefits that she was reportedly not entitled to receive. Eddy will answer the charges in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

State Police at Fredonia

Tracy Berry, 45, of Portland, was charged on June 23 with driving while intoxicated and “various other vehicle and traffic charges” after State Police responded to Bear Lake Road in the town of Pomfret for a motor vehicle accident.

While interviewing Berry, troopers allegedly detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Berry reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI.

Berry was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .13 percent was obtained.

Westfield Police Department

Joshua A. Warner, 22, of Prospect Street, was charged with two counts of speeding, driving while intoxicated, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, failure to signal, having no headlights, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless operation, unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to maintain lane, unsafe passing and failure to comply on June 19. Officers allegedly observed a vehicle speeding on Route 5 in the town of Westfield just before midnight.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle driven by Warner, he allegedly accelerated at a high rate of speed and failed to stop. A pursuit began on Route 5 and the vehicle turned on McKinley Road and allegedly was driving without its headlights. Warner also allegedly passed another vehicle in an unsafe manner near a railroad crossing.

Warner stopped and surrendered to police on McKinley Road near Route 20. He is to appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date. A female passenger in the vehicle was not charged.

Tracy L. Geiger, 48, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with failure to dim high beams, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI on June 21. Police stopped Geiger’s vehicle on South Portage Street just after 2 a.m., for an alleged traffic violation. Geiger was allegedly found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher. Geiger will appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.

Crash sends two to hospital

PANAMA – A two-vehicle crash sent two individuals to the hospital early Wednesday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the accident on East Main Street at 8:33 a.m.

A Maplevale Farms Delivery truck driven by Blaydon F. Niles, 23, of Falconer was traveling west when a vehicle driven by Siegfried F. Selle, 83, of Ashville who allegedly failed to keep right and crossed the center of the road, crashing into the side of the truck.

Selle was determined to have had a medical condition causing him to black out. Selle was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by fire department and was flow to Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pennsyl-vania, with serious injuries.

A passenger in Selle’s vehicle, Inga Selle, 76, also of Ashville was transported by ambulance to Hamot Hospital for minor injuries. Niles was transported to WCA Hospital in James-town for minor injuries.

Fire departments from Panama, Ashville, Lakewood and Sherman also responded.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

CARROLL – Blaine M. Wescott, 21, of Ashville was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday.

Deputies checked on an occupied vehicle on the side of Ivory Road at 1:18 a.m. Wescott, the driver, was found to be allegedly under the influence of narcotics and was allegedly in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills.

Wescott also had a 14-year-old passenger in the vehicle.

He was arraigned in Carroll Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

Zoar valley hiker rescued from rapid current

PERSIA – Two hikers were walking along Cattaraugus Creek Tuesday at approximately noon near the Forty Road Parking. Kelly Ziolkowski, 35, of Tonawanda was reportedly attempting to walk along the edge of the creek when she lost her footing and slipped into the creek. The rapid current pulled her out into the creek and downstream.

Her companion, Galen Kerr, 38, of Buffalo was unable to assist her and allegedly watched her float around a bend in the creek. Kerr called 911 and the New York State Police along with NYS ENCON, NYS Forest Rangers, Erie County Air One, Gowanda Police, Gowanda Fire and Gowanda ambulance responded to the area.

Members of Gowanda Fire Department entered the creek at Forty Road in a raft and traveled down stream. After passing the bend in the creek, they reported hearing Ziolkowski call for help. The rescuers saw Ziolkowski clinging to the bank of the south side of the creek and were able to rescue her from the rushing water. Ziolkowski was checked out by Gowanda Ambulance, was uninjured and was subsequently released.

State Police in Jamestown

James B. Fiebelkorn, 59, of Randolph was charged on June 22 with second-degree criminal contempt after he reportedly violated an order of protection. Fiebelkorn was arraigned in Conewango Town Court and committed to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He is to appear in Randolph Town Court at a later date.

FORESTVILLE – Robert J. Bissell, 33, of Forestville was charged on June 22 with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child after deputies were called to a residence for a report of a possible assault.

It is alleged that Bissell caused physical injury and applied pressure to the throat of another, all while in close proximity of a child. An arrest warrant was issued out of Hanover Town Court for the above charges. Bissell is due in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

SHERMAN – Kathryn C. Fisher, 36, of Sherman was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone after deputies reportedly observed a vehicle speeding on School Street.

The vehicle was stopped a short distance away on Kendrick Street.

Further investigation allegedly found Fisher to have been operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Fisher was taken into custody and after processing was released with traffic tickets.

Fisher will appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.

IRVING – Helene M. Damon, 52, of Lackawanna, was charged with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Wednesday. Deputies responded to Stagecoach West before 1 p.m., for the report of an alleged shoplifter. Damon allegedly stole several items from the stole and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Damon was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

Matthew R. Greenough, 26, of Forestville, was charged with failure to keep right and driving while intoxicated on Wednesday. Deputies allegedly observed Greenough’s vehicle cross the center line on South Roberts Road in the town of Dunkirk around 9 p.m. It was allegedly discovered Greenough was involved in a hit and run accident in the city of Dunkirk prior to the traffic stop and Greenough was found to be intoxicated. He was released to appear in Dunkirk Town Court, but is also facing charges from the City of Dunkirk Police Department from the accident.

Man asleep in drive-thru leads to charges

HANOVER – A sleeping man in a fast food drive-thru lane has led to charges. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was called to the McDonald’s on Routes 5 and 20 just before 1 a.m., to check on the welfare of a man.

Quentin M. Singletary, 31, of Dunkirk was found allegedly asleep behind the wheel while his vehicle was running in the drive-thru lane. Singletary’s driving privileges were allegedly suspended on numerous occasions. He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and unlicensed operation. Singletary was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

ELLICOTT – Matthew J. Rounds, 25, of Gerry was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain lane on Tuesday. Deputies observed a vehicle commit an alleged traffic violation just after 10 p.m., on East Fairmount Avenue. Rounds, the driver, was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was released to a sober party and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court.

Man, 25, arrested after apparent nude stroll through backyard

CHARLOTTE – Jimmy Hawkins, 25, of Buffalo was charged Saturday with public lewdness after State Police were dispatched to East Road on a report of a naked man walking around the complainant’s backyard.

Upon arrival, the subject was located and reportedly taken into custody without incident.

Hawkins was arrested for public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, and taken to the Fredonia barracks.

Hawkins was arraigned in Charlotte Town Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

State Police in Fredonia

PORTLAND – Nathan Harriger, 19, of Brocton was charged Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana after State Police came across a disabled vehicle on Central Avenue Extension. As they were assisting the operator, an odor of marijuana was reportedly detected emanating from the vehicle.

Investigation allegedly revealed the 16-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger were both in possession of marijuana. Another passenger, Har-riger, was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

All three subjects were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and issued appearance tickets returnable to Portland Town Court on July 7.

Gowanda Police

Rico A. Acevedo, 18, of Dunkirk was charged with trespassing and criminal mischief on May 29. Police responded to the report of Acevedo illegally trespassing in a fenced-in yard on Walnut Street. Acevedo allegedly scaled a six-foot fence, entered the property in the garden area and damaged or destroyed numerous flowers and plants. Acevedo was released to appear in Persia Town Court.

Cassandra M. Wnek, 21, of Jamestown Street was charged with trespassing, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest on May 30.

Police observed a vehicle parked in St. John’s Park after closing hours where Wnek was a passenger in the vehicle. When police asked Wnek to exit the vehicle she allegedly became combative and fought with officers.

Wnek was found to be allegedly in possession of 17 Xanax pills, seven Oxycodone pills, two bags of marijuana, two marijuana pipes and a scale commonly used to weigh drugs. She was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Dale W. Miller, 33, of Silver Creek was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana on May 31. Miller was stopped by officers on Buffalo Street for allegedly failing to dim his headlights.

A DMV computer check revealed Miller’s license had been suspended in 2013 and twice in 2014. Police also found Miller to be allegedly in possession of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. Miller was released to appear in Collins Town Court.

Christian M. Delaney, 33, of Taylor Hollow Road was charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on June 1. Police received a complaint of Delaney allegedly being physically aggressive with an 11-year-old child in the parking lot of a Buffalo Street business on May 25. Delaney was charged following an investigation and released to appear in Collins Town Court.

Jason W. Alexander, 36, of Perry Street was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on June 5. Police observed Alexander allegedly acting suspiciously as he walked down East Main Street. As police approached Alexander, he reportedly threw a baggie onto a lawn which allegedly contained cocaine. He was released to appear in Collins Town Court.

Rhonda L. Bulman, 49, of Jamestown Street was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal contempt and criminal mischief on June 9. Police responded to a Jamestown Street residence for the report of a loud party.

Bulman was previously warned that night to keep the noise level down. Bulman allegedly became aggressive and intentionally kicked an officer in the leg.

During arraignment in Persia Town Court, Bulman allegedly became combative with police, refused to listen to the judge’s orders and shattered a courtroom chair.

Bulman was sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Thomas E. Brockway, 53, of Elmira was charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing, criminal mischief and resisting arrest on June 9. Police responding to the complaint of a loud party at a Jamestown Street residence found Brockway allegedly entered a neighbor’s yard, without permission, and destroyed landscaping lights. He then allegedly attempted to block his door to prevent police from arresting him. Brockway was arraigned in Persia Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.

Chasnie S. Beers, 24, of North Collins was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child on June 10. A mother reported an incident to police regarding Beers. Beers allegedly intentionally burned a 5-year-old child with a cigarette that had been entrusted to Beers’ care. Beers was arraigned in Persia Town Court and released on her own recognizance.

Kenneth A. Tweedie, 77, of Forestville was charged with reckless endangerment of property on June 13. Police responded to a North Water Street residence for report of a criminal mischief incident. Tweedie allegedly was observed throwing a large quantity of nails in the resident’s driveway. Tweedie was released to appear in Persia Town Court.

NORTH HARMONY – Kimberly Latone, 33, of Jamestown was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, moving from lane unsafely, parking on pavement and speeding. Deputies saw a vehicle al-legedly speeding on Route 394 and almost improperly enter I-86 via an exit ramp at 12:22 a.m. The driver, Latone, was allegedly found to be intoxicated. She was released to appear in North Harmony Town Court.

Dunkirk Police

A 16-year-old youth of East Pine Street has been charged with harassment.

Edriese Walker, 24, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree harassment on Tuesday.

MAYVILLE – District Attorney David W. Foley announced the following pleas and sentences in Chautauqua County Court:

  • Orlando Vazquez, 39, of Dunkirk, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with 2 years post-release supervision for fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Bryan Postolowski, 28, of Fredonia, was sentenced to 2-4 years in state prison for fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
  • Earl K. Frodelius, 48, of Jamestown, was sentenced to a determinate term of 1 1/2 years in state prison with 3 years post-release supervision for third-degree rape.
  • Anthony Ford, 41, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 2-4 years in state prison for fourth-degree grand larceny.
  • Donald E. Brundage, 35, of Fredonia, was sentenced to 1 year in prison with 1 year post-release supervision for third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.
  • John M. Gibbs, 24, of Ripley, was sentenced to 1 year in prison with 1 year post-release supervision for third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.
  • Larry Johnson, 37, of Buffalo, was sentenced to 1 year in jail for third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
  • Fred J. Levy, 36, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 1 year in jail for second-degree criminal contempt.

ELLERY – Thomas A. Rossow, 53, of Sinclairville was charged with driving while intoxicated, felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on Saturday. Deputies located a suspicious vehicle parked on Fenner Road shortly before 11:30 p.m. Rossow was found to be allegedly intoxicated and had a revoked driver’s license due to a prior alcohol-related offense. Rossow was arraigned in Ellery Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

SILVER CREEK – Jacob M. Lopez, 22, of Hamburg was charged with speeding, unlawful possession of marijuana and driving while ability impaired by drugs on Saturday. Deputies observed a vehicle at an allegedly high rate of speed on Central Avenue at 3:20 a.m. Lopez, the driver, was found to be allegedly in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and found to be under the influence of drugs. Lopez was released to a sober party and is scheduled to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

HANOVER – Peter C. Russo, 33, of Buffalo was charged with driving while intoxicated and parking on highway on Sunday. Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on Iola Drive at 2:24 a.m., and stop and park in the driving lane. Russo, the driver, was allegedly seen exiting the vehicle and switching positions with a passenger. Russo was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

CHARLOTTE – Tina M. Gilber, 41, of Cassadaga was charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday. Deputies observed a vehicle allegedly speeding on Route 60 just before 7 p.m. Gilber was found to be allegedly in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. She was released to appear in Charlotte Town Court.

Kyle Janczylik, 22, of West Seneca was charged with criminal impersonation and possession of a hypodermic instrument on Wednesday.

Jessie Melendez, 30, of Lincoln Avenue was charged with third-degree criminal mischief on Friday.

Ashley Timmerman, 19, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with criminal mischief on Sunday.

Patrick Phillips, 34, of Canary Street was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunday.

A 17-year-old youth of Lake Shore Drive West was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Monday.

Timothy Press Jr., 27, of West Main Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Saturday.

Andrew Woodarek, 22, of South Dayton was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI, failure to use designated lane and cross hazard markings on Sunday after a one-vehicle accident around 2:40 a.m. on East Main Street near Clinton Avenue.

According to an accident report, Woodarek was traveling east when he went off the south side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing a large amount of damage. The vehicle reportedly came to rest back on the roadway. A police officer observed the incident as he was following Woodarek’s vehicle, the report states.

SILVER CREEK – Erik Pomroy, no age or address given, was charged with speeding, driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday. At 6:31 p.m., police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Main Street.

Pomroy was found to be allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs. He was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

WESTFIELD – Kathryn Fisher, 37, of Westfield was charged with second-degree harassment and trespass on Sunday.

Around 8 a.m., deputies along with the Westfield Police Department were dispatched to East Avenue in the town of Westfield for the report of an unwanted subject at a residence.

It was determined that Fisher was allegedly at a residence where she had been warned not to return to prior.

Fisher was also reportedly involved in a physical altercation with the property owner.

Fisher was issued appearance tickets for Westfield Town Court.

Three nabbed after Jamestown police raids

JAMESTOWN – Three men – including two parolees – were taken into custody this week after Jamestown Police reportedly discovered narcotics at three separate locations in the city.

The first raid occurred Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., when members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force searched a 21 Sturges St. residence and allegedly found a quantity of crack cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia inside.

Anthony R. Dunmore, 35, who is a parolee from Rochester, was apprehended at the residence and now faces several charges including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On Friday, investigators assisted by the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team raided a 19 Crossman St. residence shortly before 7 a.m.

Miles T. Jordan, 28, who is a parolee from Cleveland, Ohio, was apprehended after heroin, ecstasy and cash were allegedly found inside the apartment.

Jordan faces several charges including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At the same time, investigators raided an 841 E. Second St. residence, where they allegedly discovered a quantity of cocaine.

Lawrence McGrigg, 33, of Jamestown was apprehended at the residence. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All three men were sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.

Names released in head-on collision

State Police have released the names of the two individual involved in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Dunkirk.

According to troopers, Susan Johnson, 69, of Mayville, was traveling on Route 5 around 2 p.m. when her vehicle crossed the center line colliding with a vehicle driven by Gerald Bertges, 64, of Dunkirk.

Both drivers were air-lifted to Hamot Medical Center for serious but not fatal injuries.

No tickets have been issued. The investigation is continuing.

SILVER CREEK – Daniel F. Neubauer, 35, and Annette M. Gaines, 54, both of Howard Street were charged with second-degree criminal trespass on Thursday. At 6:45 p.m., deputies were called to a Howard Street residence for the report of possible trespassing. Police found that Neubauer and Gaines allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in the apartment of another individual. Both were released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.

Jonathan White, 18, of Route 60 was charged with petit larceny on Wednesday.

Jennifer Tapia, 30, of King Street, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Wednesday.

Derik Cuyler, 38, of Main Street, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Thursday.

City raids still under investigation

The significant cocaine raids in the city of Dunkirk Wednesday morning are still under investigation. According to John Flickinger of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the investigation is ongoing and the DEA does not comment on open investigations.

The raids that took place throughout the city Wednesday morning were the results of six search warrants being executed simultaneously in connection with cocaine distribution in the city.

At least one person was taken into police custody and locations raided included a residence on Central Avenue near the New York State Thruway overpass and an apartment complex near the intersection of King and Talcott streets.

Unwanted person leads to fugitive from justice charge

STOCKTON – A New Jersey man was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice in the town of Stockton Tuesday.

Joseph M. Warick Jr., 26, of Jersey City was taken into custody after Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies responded to a Maring Road residence for the report of an unwanted person. When Warick was questioned about his identity he allegedly provided a false name.

When police found Warick’s true identity, it was found he was wanted out of Hudson County, New Jersey. Warick was charged with false personation and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.

GERRY – Quentin Singletary, 30, of Dunkirk was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate, unlicensed operation, failure to notify DMV of chance of address and unlawful possession of marijuana on Sunday. Police stopped Singletary’s vehicle on Damon Hill Road for having an allegedly expired inspection sticker. Singletary was found to be allegedly in possession of marijuana during the traffic stop. Singletary was released to appear in Gerry Town Court.

CHARLOTTE – Shawn Washington, 29, of Cheektowaga was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and having an uninspected motor vehicle on Monday. Police stopped Washing-ton’s vehicle on Route 60 for allegedly having an expired inspection sticker. Washington was arraigned in Charlotte Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash or $4,000 property bail.

Sandra Contreras, 45, of Lord Street was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on Monday.

A 17-year-old male of Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Tuesday.

New York State Police at Jamestown

ELLERY – Robert D. Thompson, 63, of Bemus Point was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment on Sunday. Police responded to reports of menacing on Ellery-Centralia Road.

According to the complainants, they were at a family-owned hunting camp when Thompson allegedly approached them yelling threats. Thompson then allegedly cut one of their fishing poles in half and chased them with a machete.

Thompson was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and released on $1,000 bail. An order of protection was issued for the two complainants and Thompson will appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date.

Name released in Route 5 crash

PORTLAND – The name of the driver involved in Monday’s crash has been released by police. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Nicholas M. Botticello, 23, of Forestville was driving on Route 5 when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line before colliding with a guide rail.

Botticello was found to be allegedly impaired by drugs. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, speed not reasonable or prudent, failure to keep right and having an unsafe tire. He was released to appear in Portland Town Court at a later date.

Lester Devaughn, 48, of Dunkirk was charged on June 9 with petit larceny after a complaint received by State Police on June 8 at the Home Depot on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk. It was reported that a male subject had walked out of the building with a 4.5 gallon can of Behr premium redwood stain without paying for it. After numerous interviews and an investigation, it was reportedly determined the suspect was Devaughn. He was processed at the Fredonia barracks, given an appearance ticket and is due back in Dunkirk Town Court Monday.

CHAUTAUQUA – John B. Milliman, 23, of Mayville was charged with speed not reasonable or prudent on Tuesday. Deputies responded to the area of Route 430 and Beck Road just before 6 p.m., for a one-vehicle accident. Milliman was traveling west on Route 430 when he allegedly was distracted and veered off the roadway crashing into a utility pole. The vehicle broke through the pole and traveled several yards before coming to a stop. Milliman was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. He will appear in Chautauqua Town Court.

City man accused of burglarizing town business

A Dunkirk man allegedly stole money from a town of Dunkirk business in April. According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher J. Wilson, 52, was charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Monday.

Wilson allegedly broke into the Northern Chau-tauqua Redemption Center on Bennett Road on April 27. A warrant was issued for him and he turned himself in to Dunkirk Town Court. Wilson was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

SILVER CREEK – Charles R. Curtis, 56, of Silver Creek was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Tuesday. Shortly after 10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to an incident on Jackson Street. Curtis allegedly broke an electronic tablet belonging to another individual.

Curtis was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and released on his own recognizance to appear back in court.

Missing Perrysburg man located

The New York State Police has canceled its Silver Alert for an elderly Perrysburg man.

Ross Ayers, 82, was located by the City of Erie Police Department in Erie, Pa., Monday He was found in good health.

Ayers had been missing since Saturday.

John Logsdon, no age given, of Cassadaga was charged with failure to dim headlights and driving while intoxicated on Friday. Deputies stopped Logsdon’s vehicle on Eagle Road in the town of Pomfret for allegedly failing to dim the headlights.

Logsdon was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was taken back to the Fredonia substation for processing. His blood alcohol content level was found to be a .09 percent. Logsdon was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.

Juli Dickerson, 38, of North Ermine Street was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and inadequate muffler on Thursday.

Jennifer Mink, 38, of Arrowhead Drive was charged with failure to yield the right of way on Friday after a personal-injury accident at the intersection of Main and East Third streets shortly before noon on Thursday.

According to an accident report, Mink was traveling North on Main Street when she attempted to turn left onto East Third Street and ended up in the path of a vehicle driven by David Miller, 52, of North Ocelot Street, who was traveling south on Main Street. Police say Miller’s vehicle struck Mink’s, with Mink’s pushed onto the sidewalk, where it struck a pedestrian, Erica Lahnen, 30, of Cassadaga. Mink reportedly told police she did not see Miller until it was too late.

Mink was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital, while Lahnen initially signed off on medical attention and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. Miller received minor injuries, but refused treatment.

Jesus Bautista-Lopez, 22, of Appleton was charged with driving while intoxicated, passed red signal and speed in zone on Sunday.

Jeremy Soto, 29, of Ruggles Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.

Amanda Cuthbert, 26, of Silver Creek was charged with larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Saturday.

Deputies observed Coffey’s vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one-way street on South Shore Drive just before 5 p.m. Coffey was found to be allegedly intoxicated and arraigned in the Hanover Town Court. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 property bail.

Stockton man nabbed after police chase

STOCKTON – A 53-year-old Cassadaga man was handed multiple charges on Sunday after police say he led them on a chase both by vehicle and on foot.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:45 a.m., deputies on Nelson Hill Road in the town of Stockton attempted to stop a vehicle driven by John Gelencser of Cassadaga-Stockton Road for an alleged traffic violation. The vehicle allegedly failed to comply and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

The vehicle then pulled into a driveway off of Nelson Hill Road and Gelencser allegedly jumped out, fleeing on foot. Deputies initiated a foot pursuit and caught the suspect after a reportedly lengthy chase.

Gelencser was taken into custody and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failing to comply with lawful order, unlicensed operation and failing to use turn signal. He was arraigned in Stockton Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

SILVER CREEK – Jason Harper, 34, of Depew was charged Saturday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator and inadequate stop lamps.

Around 6:30 a.m., deputies on patrol observed a vehicle in alleged violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law for having inadequate/no stop lamps on Main Street. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the operator, Harper. Further investigation and a New York State Police Information Network check of Harper’s driving privileges revealed he had a revoked driver’s license due to an unrelated incident involving alcohol. Harper was issued traffic tickets for Silver Creek Village Court.

RIPLEY – Jacob Tunison, 26, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and uninspected motor vehicle on Saturday.

At 5:15 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle allegedly commit a traffic infraction on Route 5. Upon stopping the vehicle, deputies identified the operator as Tunison. Further investigation found Tunison to be in alleged possession of a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Woman injured in motorcycle accident

RIPLEY – A 60-year-old woman was flown to an Erie, Pa., hospital after a motorcycle accident Friday. Linda S. Vandegrift, 60, of Minerva, Ohio was flown to Hamot Hospital for unknown injuries received in the Route 20 accident.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Vandegrift was traveling east on Route 20 at 4:10 p.m., when she attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. Byron I. Barger, 21, of Westfield was traveling three cars behind Vandegrift when he attempted to pass the two vehicles in front of him. Barger did not see Vandegrift’s motorcycle and hit the motorcycle in the rear. Vandegrift lost control of the bike and fell to the ground.

Barger was charged with interfering with safe operation while Vandegrift was charged for not wearing a helmet.

ARKWRIGHT – Andrew K Studley, 33, of Forestville was charged on June 6 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, move from lane unsafely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident after deputies responded to the area of Tarbox Road at 4:30 a.m. to investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a overturned SUV. Upon arriving on scene, it appeared the vehicle’s operator had fled the scene. Deputies were reportedly able to locate the alleged operator, Studley, at his address. His New York state driving privileges were allegedly found to be revoked.

CHAUTAUQUA – Troy M Seekings, 21, of Sherman was charged on June 5 with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle after Deputies allegedly observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at 7:45 p.m. and was stopped. After speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, it was alleged that Seeking was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol and that he had purchased alcohol and distributed to a minor who was also in the vehicle.

SILVER CREEK – Zakary Sherwood, 35, of Silver Creek was charged on June 5 with obscene conduct after Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person in the village. Upon further investigation, it was allegedly determined that Sherwood was “observed acting in an offensive manner.”

ELLINGTON – Matthew J. Clark, 32, of Cherry Creek was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and fourth-degree criminal possession of a firearm on Thursday. Deputies were called to a hunting cabin on Dredge Ditch Road for a suspicious situation. It was alleged Clark was in possession of stolen items and had broken into a cabin in Cherry Creek and removed several items not belonging to him. Clark was also found to be in alleged possession of a firearm and had been previously convicted of a felony in New York state. Clark was arraigned in Cherry Creek Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

PORTLAND – John E. Blynt, 24, of Westfield was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Thursday. Police observed Blynt’s vehicle to be allegedly speeding on Route 5 at 8:48 p.m. Blynt was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was released to appear in Portland Town Court at a later date.

Two injured in crash

CHAUTAUQUA – Two men were injured in a crash Thursday afternoon. Ruston A Weise, 54 of Sherman was driving a dump truck on Route 430 at 1 p.m., when the driver’s side tire blew out. Weise was unable to control the truck as the truck veered off the road rolling onto its side. Weise and his passenger, Terry L. Ayers, 62, of Sherman suffered minor injuries. Route 430 was closed for several hours due to the crash.

Matthew R. Raymond, 26, of Buffalo was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Sunday.

Deputies received a report of a suspicious male leaving a Parker Road property in the town of Westfield. The same truck was noticed trying to enter the New York State Thruway in the town of Dunkirk a short time later and was stopped.

The driver, Raymond was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital by ambulance due to medical reasons.

Located in the truck were skis and snowboards that had been reported stolen from a Route 5 residence in the town of Ripley earlier in the day.

Raymond was taken into custody once released from the hospital and arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

ELLICOTT – Nich-olas W. Friss, 30, of Lakewood was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speed not reasonable, moving from lane unsafely, following too closely, passing a red signal, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident on Tuesday. Deputies responded to a complaint on Fairmount Avenue at 9:10 p.m. A vehicle operated by Friss allegedly struck another vehicle then left the scene.

Police were able to locate Friss a short distance later and determined he was allegedly intoxicated. Friss was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

FORESTVILLE – James J. Hilliker, 47, of Hanover Road was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment on Thursday. The charges stem from an arrest warrant and an incident on May 24. Hilliker allegedly violated an order of protection from Chautauqua County Court and he turned himself into police. Hilliker was released on his own recognizance to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

CHARLOTTE – Lee Seybold, 53, of Silver Creek was charged on Wednesday with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana after State Police responded to the Pine Acres Mobile Home Park, on Pine Acres Drive, for a report of an unwanted subject causing a disturbance and damaging property.

Investigation reportedly led to the arrest of Seybold for the above charges.

Seybold was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing and arraigned in Charlotte Town Court.

Seybold was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Officers injured in Jamestown incident

JAMESTOWN – Three police officers were injured in an incident early Wednesday in the city of Jamestown. Two Jamestown Police officers and a Chautauqua County Sheriff deputy suffered minor injuries when Joseph DeJesus of Center Street allegedly became combative and fought officers on West Fourth Street at Jefferson Street.

Police were called to check the well-being of DeJesus allegedly acting strangely walking in the roadway at 1:35 a.m. Officers determined DeJesus needed to go to the hospital upon arriving at the scene. Once DeJesus was placed inside a police car, he kicked the doors and damaged one of the doors, police said.

DeJesus was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief. He was held without bail pending arraignment at the city jail.

Davis, 25, of French Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign, moving from lane unsafely and unlawful possession of marijuana on Wednesday. Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle in a ditch on French Creek Mina Road at 12:36 a.m. Davis was found to be allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated and found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was released to appear in French Creek Town Court.

ASHVILLE – A 16-year-old male was charged with third-degree menacing and disorderly conduct on April 28. Deputies took a complaint at the Hewes Education Center where the male was allegedly acting reckless and became disorderly in a public place. The male also allegedly made threatening gestures which instilled fear in another person.

The male was released to appear in North Harmony Town Court.

RANDOLPH – James B. Fiebelkorn, 59, of Randolph was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated after State Police responded to a report of someone reportedly doing “donuts” on Main Street in Randolph around 9:30 p.m.

Fiebelkorn was allegedly located, and after field sobriety tests, was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to the Jamestown barracks where a blood alcohol content of .12 was obtained.

Sheridan man charged after altercation

SHERIDAN – A 28-year-old man has been charged following a fight in the town of Sheridan Sunday.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a fight at a Route 20 residence just after 4 a.m. Deputies arrived to find that two males had allegedly been in an altercation. Justin M. Stanfield had allegedly pushed another male into a table and grabbed him by the throat. Stanfield allegedly had taken the male’s cell phone and damaged it.

Stanfield was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. He was arraigned in Sheridan Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $500 bail.

COLLINS – Aaron Cornfield, 20, of Gowanda was charged on May 30 with unlawful possession of marijuana after State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 438 for reportedly failing to stop at a stop sign at Taylor Hollow Road.

The passenger, Cornfield, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.

Cornfield was charged and is to return to Collins Town Court on June 10

Diamond Vargas, age 17, of Dunkirk was charged on May 29 with shoplifting after State Police responded to Tops Market on Vineyard Drive in the Town of Dunkirk for a report of shoplifting.

An interview of the assistant store manager allegedly revealed the shoplifter had stolen 57 items, with a total value of $159.48.

Vargas was charged and transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing.

Vargas is to return to Dunkirk Town Court on June 8.

MAYVILLE – Stefan Parkhurst, 33, of Mayville was charged on May 29 with second-degree harassment with physical contact after State Police responded to the Kwik Fill on Route 394 for a report of harassment.

The complainant stated a male was upset with him blocking the entrance while he was waiting to use the gas pump. After an exchange of words, the male walked up to his car and reportedly punched him in the left side of his face.

Parkhurst was charged and is due back in Chautauqua Town Court on June 6.

Scott Skeels, 38, of Forestville was charged on May 30 with speeding, first-offense driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with .08 percent or more alcohol in blood after State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 5 in Pomfret for speeding.

The operator, Skeels, was allegedly found to be intoxicated after failing standard field sobriety tests.

Skeels was arrested for DWI and transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing. Skeels reportedly had a .16 percent blood alcohol content.

Skeels was charged and is due back in Pomfret Town Court on June 16.

Edwin Sanchez-Arroyo, 27, of Park Avenue was charged with second-degree harassment on May 15.

Troy Smith, 43, of Water Street, Forestville, was charged with disorderly conduct on May 19.

Stephen Pacheco, 28, of South Zebra Street was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on May 20.

Gary Sams III, 25, of Cleveland Avenue, Fredonia, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree harassment on May 20.

Messiak Gonzalez, 27, of Washington Avenue was charged with second-degree harassment on May 24.

Anthony Arroyo-Garcia, 31, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful impersonation, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, failure to comply, passing a red light, failure to keep right, speed unreasonable, unlicensed operator, failure to signal and reckless operation on May 24.

Daniel Mowrey, 24, of Shorewood Drive was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and speed in zone on May 25.

Carl Moore, 34, of Chestnut Street was charged with unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief on May 8.

Daniel Waite, 34, of Lincoln Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with third-degree assault, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument on May 10.

John Tenamore, 34, of East Courtney Street, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny and criminal impersonation on May 11.

Nicholas Stephens, 28, of Silver Springs was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic control device on May 11.

Dunkirk man nabbed after allegedly leaving scene

POLAND – A 37-year-old Dunkirk man was handed multiple charges after police say they located him while he was attempting to flee into a heavily wooded area.

According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Of-fice, around 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance call on Eccles Road in the town of Poland. After an investigation, it was discovered that Dennis Wallace of Van Buren Road had just allegedly assaulted an individual at a residence and took off on foot into the wooded area prior to the arrival of police.

The Sheriff’s K-9 unit, along with K-9 Drago, were able to track and locate Wallace in the woods hiding behind a tree.

Wallace was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

The Carroll Police Department and the New York State Police assisted.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

ELLERY – Michael Donner, 54, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated common law, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content above .18 percent and speed in zone on Thursday.

At around 4 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle allegedly commit a traffic violation on Route 430. Deputies stopped the vehicle and after a brief investigation, it was determined the operator, Donner, was allegedly operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Donner was released to a sober party and will appear in Ellery Town Court.

HANOVER – John Tunstall, 42, of Forestville was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, DWI, unsafe backing and possession or consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on Saturday.

Shortly before midnight, deputies were dispatched to the report of a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle in the ditch on Creek Road. Deputies arrived and located the operator, Tunstall, at the scene. After an investigation, it was discovered that Tunstall had allegedly been operating the vehicle while intoxicated when he backed into the ditch.

Tunstall was taken into custody for processing, where it was reported his blood alcohol content was over three times the legal limit. He was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

CHAUTAUQUA – Daryll Thompson, 30, of Brocton was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater on Sunday.

Around 3 a.m., deputies investigated a suspicious situation on Lakeview Avenue. Investigation found that Thompson had allegedly been operating his vehicle while intoxicated.

Thompson was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court.

CHAUTAUQUA – Rachelle Eddy, 26, of Mayville was charged with second-degree harassment on Sunday.

Around 3 a.m., deputies were investigating a suspicious situation on Lakeview Avenue. At this time, Eddy allegedly opened the rear door of a sheriff’s patrol vehicle and got into the rear seat with a person that was under arrest. When deputies removed Eddy from the rear seat of the vehicle, she allegedly pushed a deputy.

She was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court.
