≤ ELLERY — On April 27 at roughly 2:10 a.m., deputies responded to Route 430 for a criminal mischief complaint. Upon arrival, witnesses stated that Mitch A. Costanzo, 25, of Kiantone allegedly used a hammer to damage the front windshield of a pick-up truck. Costanzo fled the scene prior to the deputies arrival, but was later located by deputies in the Town of Carroll. Costanzo was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Costanzo was held at Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.

≤ FRENCH CREEK — On April 27 at around 11:53 p.m., deputies were called to a physical altercation at a residence on Camelot Drive. Upon arrival, it was alleged by the victim that William E. Heald, 52, of Sheridan, choked her during a physical altercation. Heald was taken into custody and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Heald was transported to Chautauqua County Jail to await arraignment and will appear in Town of French Creek Court at a later date.

≤ ELLERY — On Thursday, Carrie D. Garrett, 38, of Greenhurst was issued an appearance ticket for fourth-degree grand larceny. This charge stems from an investigation done of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division.

It is alleged that between April 2018 and September 2018, Garrett took property totaling $2,283.07 to which she was not entitled. Garrett is to appear in the town of Ellery court at a later time.
