≤ JAMESTOWN — On May 24, troopers pulled over a vehicle on North Main Street Extension for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, Charles Haley, 47, of Jamestown, was allegedly found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine and hydrocodone pills. Haley was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Haley was transported to State Police Jamestown and processed. Haley was issued appearance tickets and a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court next month.

≤ RANDOLPH — On May 22, troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 for speeding. While speaking to the occupants, Shyanne John, 25, of Irving, and an unnamed teenager, troopers allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that John was in possession of a smoking device containing marijuana residue and both John and her teenage passenger were in possession of bags containing marijuana. John was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and both were issued appearance tickets. Both are scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court next month.

Car chase ends in Cattaraugus yard

CARROLL — On May 24 at roughly 4:45 a.m., a deputy attempted to stop an erratic driver on Route 62. The vehicle failed to stop and was pursued to Bone Run Road in Cattaraugus County, where the vehicle drove into a residential yard. The operator, Bijan Sedighzadeh, 30, of Westminster, Colorado, was allegedly having drug-induced convulsions. Sedighzadeh was arrested and transported by Allstar EMS to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment. Upon Sedighzadeh’s release from UPMC, he was immediately remanded to Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment for felony DWAI – drugs and numerous vehicle and traffic charges.
