¯ On Aug. 7, Kevin M. O’Brien, 60, of Dunkirk was charged with petit larceny and trespass.

¯ On Aug. 9, Allen S. Young, 31, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speed not reasonable in zone.

¯ On Sunday, Annette M. Siraguse, 49, of Dunkirk was charged with DWI, DWI per se and failure to keep right.

¯ On Sunday, Christopher S. Miller, 42, of Brocton was charged with second-degree harassment, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

¯ On Monday, Adam T. Ossman, 28, of Fredonia was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and parking after hours in an area not allowed.

¯ On Monday, Walter Barnard, 49, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree burglary.

¯ On Tuesday, Pierre R. Fleurant, 47, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, suspended registration and no insurance.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

PORTLAND — After an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, it was discovered on June 16, 2019 that Kevin Hughes, 57, of Bemus Point, did allegedly possess a counterfeit $100 bill. Hughes reportedly used the counterfeit bill at a business on Route 20 in Portland to purchase merchandise. On Aug. 13, Hughes was placed under arrest and charged with felony first-degree possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny. Hughes was arraigned at Chautauqua County Jail by the centralized arraignment program and bail was set at $10,000 cash.

BEMUS POINT — On July 18 at roughly 8:40 p.m., deputies received a report that a male stole a wallet out of a purse at the Bemus Point Golf Course. Investigators were then made aware of a string of similar thefts occurring in Pennsylvania and Ohio. With the assistance of multiple agencies, including Mill Creek Police, Mercyhurst Police, Corry Police and Orchard Park Police, the suspect was identified as Howard A. Barco, 58, of Orchard Park. A warrant was issued for Barco’s arrest and he was reportedly found Aug. 14 in the town of Hamburg. Barco was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment via the centralized arraignment program.

ELLERY — On August 3 at about 7:21 p.m., deputies were investigating Dennis J. Creed, 45, of Bemus Point, for allegedly sending threatening text messages to another person. Further investigation found that Creed did send several threatening text messages to another person. Creed was arrested on August 15 and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. Creed was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in town of Ellery Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK — On Aug, 15 at roughly 1 a.m., deputies observed and made contact with a suspicious vehicle on Central Avenue. Through further investigation, it was discovered that the driver, Barbara L. Zmuda, 48, of Silver Creek, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Zmuda was taken into custody and charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a breath test. Zmuda was later transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

MAYVILLE — On Aug. 15 at around 1:15 p.m., deputies responded to a shoplifting report from a business on South Erie Street. A brief search and investigation found Eric A. Courtier, 29, of Mayville, to allegedly have stolen merchandise from the business. Courtier was arrested and charged with petit larceny. Courtier was released with appearance tickets and will answer the charges in town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
