Minor injuries in crash

HANOVER — Thursday at around 3:40 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Routes 5 and 20.

Investigation into the accident found that Caleb Daniels, 28, of Brocton was traveling west on Routes 5 and 20, when he allegedly rear ended another vehicle. As a result of the accident one person was transported to Lakeshore Hospital for minor injuries.

Daniels was issued a traffic citation for following too closely and is due to appear in the town of Hanover Court at a later date. Deputies were assisted by the Irving, Sunset Bay, and Silver Creek fire departments.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

PERSIA — On August 14 at around 11:51 a.m., Rachel E. Ahlbin was traveling south on State Route 353 when she stated a semi came into her lane. When Ahlbin moved over, her vehicle traveled into the ditch, then hit a sluice pipe and went airborne before coming to a rest. No injuries were reported and Ahlbin refused medical treatment.

Westfield Police Department

≤ On August 21 at roughly 10 a.m., Martin R. Wilder, 71, of Westfield, was arrested for issuing a bad check after an investigation into an incident reported by the village of Westfield. The report indicated that Wilder allegedly wrote a check for payment to the Department of Public Works. The check was later returned due to insufficient funds. Wilder will appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date to answer the charge.
