Cherry Creek man charged after early morning incident

CHERRY CREEK — A town man is facing charges after an incident early Saturday.

At approximately 2:09 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to an address for a report of a disorderly subject. Further investigation revealed that William J. Chadwick, 48, intentionally damaged the property of another person and acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the mental welfare of a child less than seventeen years old.

Chadwick was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

Chadwick was taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment.

Mayville woman charged in drug possession

MAYVILLE — A village woman is facing drug charges after a vehicle was stopped late Wednesday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Blanchard Street. Further investigation found that a passenger in the vehicle, Ann F. Hannold, 41, of Mayville, was in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and a hypodermic needle.

Hannold was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

Hannold will answer her charges in town of Chautauqua Court on a later date.

Westfield Police Department

On August 30 at roughly 11:27 p.m., patrol stopped a vehicle on Union Street for an alleged traffic violation. The operator identified himself as Paul R. Dunn III, 37, of Brocton. Investigation found that Dunn’s license was allegedly suspended and there was an active warrant for his arrest through the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department. Dunn was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no/inadequate plate lamps. Dunn was then brought to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

DUNKIRK — On August 30, troopers conducted a road check on Route 60. While speaking to one driver, Alexander Benejan, 19, of Dunkirk, troopers allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside Benejan’s vehicle. An unspecified amount of marijuana was located inside Benejan’s vehicle and he was placed under arrest. Benejan was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and was released with an appearance ticket. Benejan is scheduled to appear in town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.
