¯ GERRY — A 25-year-old Sinclarville woman is facing drug charges after a traffic violation on Wednesday.

New York State Police at Jamestown charged Stevie Provorse with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was pulled over on Route 60 in Gerry for a traffic violation. While speaking to Provorse, troopers observed a bag of methamphetamine inside the vehicle in plain view.

A search of Provorse and her vehicle revealed a second bag of methamphetamine. Provorse was placed under arrest, transported to State Police at Jamestown and processed. She was issued an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court later in the month.

¯ JAMESTOWN — A city man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Rodney Austin, 50, was pulled over early Saturday by State Police at Jamestown on Prendergast Avenue after allegedly committing several traffic violations, including driving on the sidewalk. Austin was placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown barracks where he provided a breath sample of .19.

Austin was then processed, issued traffic tickets and released. Austin is scheduled to appear in the city of Jamestown Court on a later date.

¯ GERRY — A Jamestown woman has been charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

On Friday, troopers out of the State Police at Jamestown charged Kelly Blakeslee, 29, after she was stopped for a vehicle traffic violation on Gerry-Ellington Road. While speaking to the occupants, Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that Blakeslee was in possession of a bag containing marijuana. Blakeslee was issued an appearance ticket and the driver was issued a traffic ticket.

Blakeslee is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court on a later date.

¯ SILVER CREEK — A 23-year-old Hamburg man was charged early Sunday after a number of alleged traffic violations.

Around 12:52 a.m., Chautauqua County deputies stopped a vehicle in the village. Through an investigation, deputies discovered the vehicle’s operator Martin Schweitzer Jr. was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Schweitzer was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI per se, failure to dim lights, no seat belt, and speed not reasonable and prudent.

He was released with tickets to appear in the village of Silver Creek Court at a later date.

¯ ELLERY — An Ohio man is facing felony driving while intoxicated charges after being stopped Sunday morning.

At about 1:11 a.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies on observed a vehicle with multiple traffic violations on Route 430 in the town. The operator was identified as Thomas L. Doty II, 51. Further investigation found that Doty was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

A criminal history check found that Doty had been convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the state of Ohio in 2016, making this current arrest a felony offense.

Doty was processed and held at the Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment.

¯ MINA — At about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 426 in the town after an observed traffic infraction.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, Tyler D. Budziszewski, 31, of North East, Pa., was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated state.

Budziszewski was charged with DWI, DWI per se, driving over hazard markings and operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone. Budziszewski will answer his charges in town of Mina Court on a later date.
