≤ On Sept. 13 at around 10:35 p.m., patrol stopped a vehicle on Erie Road for speeding. The driver was identified as Russell A. Toepfer, 23, of North Collins. When asked for his driver’s license, Toepfer allegedly stated, “My license is suspended.” Dispatch confirmed his license was suspended and Toepfer was placed under arrest. Toepfer was transported to Evans Police Department for booking and was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed in zone and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate. Toepfer was later issued traffic tickets and released.

≤ On Sept. 14 at roughly 2:14 p.m., patrol stopped a vehicle on Eden Evans Center Road for a cell phone violation. A DMV check on the license of the driver, Jeffrey M. Smith, 56, of Evans, allegedly showed it to be revoked. Smith was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and operating a motor vehicle on a public highway while using a mobile phone. Smith was transported to Evans Police Department, processed and released with traffic tickets.
