Pair of DWI arrests made in county

Two driving while intoxicated arrests have been announced by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department.

At around 7:32 p.m. Thursday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle for an observed traffic violation on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. An investigation found the driver of the vehicle, Daniel T. Cravens, 30, of Cassadaga was intoxicated. Cravens was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se, and no/inadequate headlamps.

Cravens was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to be in the town of Pomfret court at a later date.

On Sept. 29, deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:30 p.m. for an alleged traffic violation on Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover. Through an investigation, deputies discovered the vehicle’s driver Robert M. Bears of Bethel Park was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Bears was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI per se, and speed in zone. Bears was released with tickets to be in the town of Hanover court.

One injured in Rt. 62 crash

KIANTONE — On Tuesday, at roughly 8 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies responded to a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident on Route 62.

Upon further investigation, deputies determined that a pickup truck operated by Hans Block, 68, of Sugargrove, PA, allegedly failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, causing a motorcycle operated by Travis Wilcox, 22, of Warren, PA, to crash.

Wilcox was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while Block was uninjured.

Block was charged with failure to yield right of way at a stop sign and was issued multiple traffic citations.

¯ Daniel Browne, Thomas Parshall, Connor Porteus and Leo Koellner were all charged with noise ordinance violations Sept. 20 in relation to a White Street incident.

¯ Christopher Brooks was charged Sept. 21 with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and an open container violation.

¯ Dereck Ice was charged Sept. 21 with second degree criminal trespassing.

¯ Justin Price was charged Sept. 22 with a sewer ordinance violation.

¯ Amanda Worden was charged Sept. 23 with petit larceny.

¯ Anna Faulise was charged Sept. 23 with petit larceny.

¯ Carrie Poff was charged Sept. 24 with petit larceny.

¯ Shaina Love was charged Sept. 24 with second degree harassment and second degree criminal contempt.

¯ Phillip Decker was charged Sept. 25 with second degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

¯ Fernando Martinez was charged Sept. 25 with petit larceny, trespassing and third degree burglary.
