Westfield man charged in Monday morning altercation

WESTFIELD — A Westfield man is facing numerous charges after an altercation on Monday morning.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Westfield Police Department were called to an address at 7:45 a.m. in the town to investigate an incident that occurred. The investigation revealed that during a physical altercation with another, Anthony D. Delmonte Sr., 20, also forcefully stole property, damaged property, and committed these acts in front of a child less than 17 years of age.

Delmonte was charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail to arraigned by Centralized Arraignment Part Program.

¯ KENNEDY — A Jamestown man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation Sunday.

State Police in Jamestown arrested Kenneth Lamb III, 31 after pulling him over on Interstate 86 in Kennedy for passing troopers at a high rate of speed. Lamb was placed under arrest after failing several sobriety tests and transported to the Jamestown barracks where he provided a breath sample of a 0.15. The charge was upgraded to a felony after a check of Lamb’s driving history revealed that he had been convicted of DWI within the preceding 10 years.

Lamb was processed, issued tickets returnable to the town of Poland Court and released. Lamb is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court later in the month.

¯ JAMESTOWN — A city man has been charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Troopers stopped to render assistance to Lawrence Meyer, 35, who pulled over on the shoulder of Interstate 86 for an unknown reason. While speaking to Meyer, troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Meyer and his vehicle revealed a jar containing over 2.3 ounces of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and a bag containing cocaine.

Meyer was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Meyer was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
