Westfield man facing altercation troubles again

WESTFIELD — A town resident is again facing charges after an altercation last month.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported they investigated an alleged incident that occurred in the town Dec. 16. After further investigation, Anthony Delmonte, 20, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree menacing, third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Delmonte and he was arrested Friday. Delmonte was transported to Chautauqua County Jail and will be arraigned in front of The Centralized Arraignment Program.

Last January, Delmonte was arrested and issued two appearance tickets after an investigation into a domestic dispute that allegedly occurred Thursday between Delmonte and a female victim.

In that incident it was alleged Delmonte had punched and kicked the female victim while she was holding a child.

Minor injuries reported in Gerry accident Friday afternoon

GERRY — One youth was injured after a car accident on the Old Chautauqua Road on Friday afternoon.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report they were dispatched for a vehicle into the ditch around 4 p.m. Upon arrival it was found that Casey M. Eaker, 28, of Hagerdon Road lost control of his vehicle and crashed. Four minors were passengers in the vehicle, one of which sustained minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Chautauqua WCA in Jamestown.

Gerry Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident. No charges are pending.

Dunkirk man facing drug charges after traffic stop

CASSADAGA — A 40-year-old Dunkirk man is facing drug charges after being stopped Saturday morning.

Chautauqua County sheriff units stopped a motor vehicle on North Main Street for having no inspection sticker. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as Fred W. Bistrisky. Bistrisky was found to have a valid bench warrant and was found to have a revoked driver’s license.

He was placed in custody on the warrant and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Bistrisky was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a search was conducted subsequent to arrest.

IRVING — At 11:45 p.m. Friday, deputies of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the town of Hanover for an alleged traffic violation.

Through an investigation it was discovered that the operator Robert Burchett, 58, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Burchett was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI per se, failure to dim headlamps, operating out of restriction, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Burchett was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date and released.
