Woman faces welfare fraud charges

LITTLE VALLEY — A Gowanda woman is facing welfare fraud charges after illegally receiving $3,419 in food stamps.

Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies investigated a complaint by the Department of Social Services and proceeded to charge Christina M. Neyman, 35, of 119 Chestnut St. Neyman was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing after she failed allegedly concealed and failed to report income.

The suspect turned herself in and was released with an appearance ticket to the Olean city court.
