PORTLAND — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a criminal mischief complaint in the Town of Portland. On Thursday Kyle Cambria, 21, of Portland and Tyler Dalton, 20, of Falconer, were both charged with felony third-degree criminal mischief.

It is alleged that Dalton and Cambria caused damage in excess of $1,000 to property at a local business.

Cambria and Dalton were released with appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Portland Court at a later date.

County announces Stop DWI results

Chautauqua County police agencies have participated in the New York State STOP-DWI Holiday Enforcement Crackdown.

The crackdown ran Dec. 11 through Jan. 1. This event is funded by a 2019-2020 grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and is part of a national crackdown effort. In Chautauqua County, the Chautauqua County Sheriff, municipal law enforcement agencies, and New York State Police vigorously enforce laws related to driving while impaired. They worked together to reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and deaths, with special emphasis on driving while impaired by either alcohol or drugs.

The agencies participated in the state-wide crackdown during the holiday season, resulting in a total of 40 vehicle stops, arrests and summonses.

“Removing intoxicated drivers from Chautauqua County roadways is one of our top priorities,” said Sheriff James B. Quattrone. “If you choose to drink, don’t drive. Drunk drivers not only put themselves in danger, they threaten everyone who shares the road with them.”
